Default I got my permit today!!

I submitted my application and class cert on Feb 3rd and received a call from Tulare Co. SO that my permit was approved and ready for pick up. I picked it up about an hour ago.

Overall, the process took 10 weeks 3 days from start to finish.

It's no Upland LTC in 3 weeks but I'm more than satisfied with the hassle-free process of Tulare County and Sheriff Mike Boudreaux.

Now congratulate me, will ya!!!

Congrats! The Upland 3 week thing isn't quite true... I'm 8 weeks in and still have a week or two to go before picking up my permit. So it sounds like you're about tied for the fastest process!

Thanks, guys.

The whole process is alarmingly simple. I went in this morning and she said to pony up $79, sign and take a few thumb prints. Then she laminated it, handed it to me and stepped behind her desk. I was waiting for a lecture or something.

I asked, "Is that it?"
"Yep, that's it. Have nice day."
I was like, "Okay, thanks. You too."

My class was free. Members of Visalia Sportsman's Association can take a free 4-hour class on the 1st Monday of every month.

$60 membership for the year gives you range access and clubhouse access. We have an FFL too.
