Default I think we need a dedicated Reloading For Sale forum

So who else besides me think it would be a good idea to have a sales forum dedicated to reloading components and equipment? I hope I'm not beating a dead horse but I find it rather unorganized selling my extra projectiles or looking for primers on the same forum where people flip their factory ammo.

I agree, given the current circumstances. I have not been a member that long but suspect that pre-panic, there were far fewer ammunition posts, after all you could buy it most anywhere.
It would be nice to be able to just view components and equipment.

I'm not sure how Kestryll and the mods will feel about it, but I say GO for it!

On a side note, has anyone noticed that there are more components for sale in SoCal than NorCal ? I'm assuming there are just more people/population in relationship to up in the Bay area...

I would love that. I hate sifting through the ammo sales to find reloading stuff, especially now when everyone is trying to dump ammo off at a premium.

We are working on getting a dedicated reloading club forum for members only.

Yea of little faith. If we get enough club members, just think of the buying power we would have! There have already been GBs here of more than 250,000 bullets in one order. Now, lets think on a state wide level. Manufactures of components and equipment would be more than happy to deal directly with us. In fact, some of the preliminary groundwork has already been done at SHOT 2013. Of course, the idea of club owned equipment like Giraud trimmers, annealing machines, presses, dies, etc. is intriguing as well.

That would be awesome but at the same time, this would be horrible for my bank account. Do they make a progressive reloading press for bank accounts?

Between Ivanimals seminars and the growing bay area reloading community, I'm sure it's bound to happen in group buy form soon. I'd like to be a part of that!

The reloading club is in it's infancy right now. Things are going to be happening. Here in Orange county we will be hosting the first Orange County reloading clinic for beginners. This will be a learn by doing class. Not merely a lecture on reloading. There will be a fee however beginners will actually load their first rounds and take them home to shoot. People interested in learning to load will be able to take them first shots of their own ammo before investing in equipment. PM me if you are interested in attending, whether as a student or a mentor. We will need volunteers.

A sub forum is in the works for the members only. There will most likely also be a for sale forum within the sub forum. Again access to reloading club members only. Hopefully this will be selling not needed items at fair pricing.

Also please if you are interested in becoming part of this club weigh in on the issues.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...0#post11161390

Once we have voted on an official club name we will be looking to come up with a logo.

This club has the potential to alter the face of reloading in California. So get involved.

I currently go to other forums (AR15, 1911 forum, ENOS, etc) for reloading brass and primers. I buy powder locally because of freight costs. The other sites have no OT areas creating noise and recipe discussions are good.

Calguns is NOT my go to site for anything reloading. Not that you care but this forums activity is heavily 2A and off topic. I find it entertaining but take it for what it is.

Brought this up last year. People responded favorably, but I never heard anything from the mods when PM'd them. I would love to see a separate "Reloading Sales" forum!

Yeah, I've posted too in the "what can we do to make calguns better?" section, I don't think they really care.

But I really want to see it happen, because it sucks when your post gets buried in minutes by hundreds of guys trying to sell ammo.

Here is one vote that says we don't need a special section for reloading in market place. In my observation, there simply isn't enough posts either here in this forum, or enough reloading related items posted for sale in the market place.

I say just have the for-sale posts here in this forum. If volume of posts begin to increase, we will split it.

From your two months of observation, eh?

The fact that there are fewer reloading ads (than ammo sales) in the marketplace is exactly why it needs its own section.

I disagree. Before sandy hook, every time I looked at the ammo and reloading sale forum I'd see a BIG majority in reloading stuff only. Very few ammo sales! They'd come and go.

After Sandy Hook? NOTHING but ammo. I've been internally *****ing about it for months.

It's actually my personal metric for when "all this blows over". When ammo and reloading goes back to being mostly reloading stuff, I know the mess has finally blown over.

Anyways, calguns is already too big. The main page already has like 50 forums. And if we keep sub-forumizing it, then its 10 times worse because the forum you want is within 2 or 3 sub forum pages.

No, the way it is now is fine. Leave as is, please.

Very! Imagine a Tech Shop space set up with ROWS of single stage presses. All sorts of dies. Dillons set up for 223, 308, 30-06, all the common pistol cals.

Of course the prep equipment.

My imagination goes much farther. Casting equipment complete with vent hoods. gascheck makers.

How about a full swager setup for swaging your own bullets? We'd never find a scrap of 22LR brass at the range again.

Paid for like a gym membership. Just like Tech Shop. Monthly gives you full access, including discounts on classes, etc.

cool thought exercise.

Be nice.

This actually my second account. I had to abandon my first account that was more than 5 years old because it stop allowing me to see all the forum. If I remember correctly, Ammo and Reload was one of them as well as few others. An PM was dispatched to the admin account on this forum and waited for few weeks without reply. Since I can't get an reply or help to resolve the issue, a simple solution was to create a new account.

So, there you have it. I'm not really two months old.

Yeah, that may have been unnecessary on my part.

I was...less than thrilled with one of your suggestions.

If y'all are seriously going to do this...I would make it mandatory to put the location in the title!

Nothing sucks worse than to see: WTS - Winchester Large Pistol Primers $40"
in the title only to open it up and find that it's for a location 400 miles away, north or south depending on where you live with no shipping!

There, that's my .02

I think a dedicated components forum in the marketplace would be great but I dont think you should have to be a member of the reloading club to see/post in it.

A nor cal chapter would be great.

And by "nor cal", I don't mean Sacramento or the SF bay area.
