Why'd a thread of Sig pics offend you, dasmi? CZs are true classics in handgun design and manufacture. I could never understand this need to "talk down" other brands. My CZ pistols are amazing shooters. What's not to love about an all steel 9mm?

Top: CZ75B (from CZUSA's first year here in Sunny California).
Bottom: The rare CZ75 (Retro).

Nice I have a CZ Compact .40 myself and will not let it go though I have had many offers every time I go to the range!!! I also had a P-01 but sold that and had planned to purchase the SP-01 but couldn't afford it at the time. Nice choice in WEAPONS!!!!

Now I'm confused- this pic was posted by you, Ducke. You didn't know what it was?

Those are Pachmayr grips Ducke, they're aftermarket.

Here's my pictures and my target from the range. I probably shot about 60 rounds. Eh... nothing too crazy just from about 10 yards

I need to work on my trigger control and grip since I'm shooting a bit down and to the left. The shots out of the bullseye, I have no clue what I was doing.

I shot the 75 SA for the first time in the USPSA match (L-10 minor), bone stock gun and factory ammo (with a touch of fluorescent orange paint on the front sight) and it was fantastic. I can only imagine what it'll do with handloads, proper sights and a nice trigger job...

Buncha nice guns here. I'll be able to throw mine in here on June 1st, when I can pick mine up!

CZ 75b compact .40

Edit: Bah! just found a really bad review on the compact .40, one of the ones that automatically makes you wanna see if the gun store will give you your money back. But then I read the people who put thousands of rounds through with no problem.

sometimes I hate the internet...

Default a Pic of my (still unfired) 97b

I've got a CZ-40b too, but I don't have a picture of it (bought it in 2002 and have fired only 200 rounds through it).

Anyhoo, here's the virgin

It is not the gun!

They did have some issues with mags when first introduced but that appears to have been resolved. The Compact 40 I have was a new return to CZ for FTF and was sold by Whittakers to me.

Turns out the gun is near perfect but the mags (older versions) are ammo sensitive.

I have shot the following with zero issues:

180 grn Miwall reloads
180 Blazzer Brass
180 UMC
Winchester White box
165 grn & 180 grn Winchester JHP "ranger" ammo
My 180 grn lead reloads

All of these function fine but the factory mags do not like 180 grn Fed Hydra-shocks for some reason; I can get about 4-5 in and the follower hangs up and the ammo just drops out of the mags if turned upside down.

I am certain you will like the gun. If you don't let me know where you live; I will give you the same I paid Whittakers for mine

I read about these in the Front Sight mag, they're a huge hit with the Euro IPSC crowd(s). How do you like it, what's your opinion of the build quality and so forth?

Ah, thanks for reaffirming my purchase!

Pick her up on Monday, and I requested the day off so I could go get a feel for her.

Edit: your mags which don't like the Federal rounds, are they the earlier mags, or the "new" mags, which are supposed to be fixed?

Also, on their site, I didn't see any listing for compact .40 mags, are they compatible with full size .40???

In the 9mm variety, the bodies are identical -- it's just the baseplate which is different. I don't have a compact 40, but my fullsize 40 has a small baseplate which makes me think that the compact ones might have a shorter body. However I would be willing to bet that the followers and mag-catch holes are identical between the two, meaning a fullsize 40 mag would fit in a compact and just hang out the butt of the gun. Just a guess, but seems reasonable...

The mags that I have for my compact are the metal baseplate originals. I could send them in to CZ for replacement but they work fine with the ammo I shoot and carry.

My full size Meg gar 40 mags from my 75B work as well but they do stick out of course.

Who makes the grips on your RAMI? Are those the ones you can order from CZ? And how do you like them? They seem pretty smooth, not very grippy?

Default Sphinx at2000

This is 1 of 3 I have, the other`s are a .380 DAO and a long slide comp. version. The AT2000 is meant to be a CCW type gun with ambi controls. These guns are hand assembled and fitted by one gunsmith, like in a custom shop and the quality shows it. The action is smooth as glass with no creep or sloop, will shoot a group as good as any of my hand built 1911`s. I bought them in the early 90`s and very seldom see one for sale, if you ever get a chance to get one you will not regret it, it is one of the 3 guns listed on my CCW.
