Can someone tell me about the hype on these? These are blend and I know JD makes these for them.
A lower is pretty much a lower right? I mean if they are being cut on the same machines as JD then what's with all the to do?

The roll mark/logo "makes them top tier" kinda like designer purses for women

The Gen2 have a flared magwell profile and integral trigger guard. And they are more durable and reliable b/c the roll mark makes them top tier!

Gen 2 lowers are nice because they have the flared mag. well, they have a tight fit with most uppers, they are 7 series billet and they weigh the same as a forged lower. The integral trigger guard is nice but common on billet lowers. The Noveske roll mark pretty much guarantees the resale value will stay high which is definitely worth something too.

My only complaint is that these do not have the tensioning screw in the grip area to tighten fit with the upper when necessary. In this price range these should have that feature.

Chainsaw lowers are consider "blems" from what I can tell. There is nothing inherently special about these....a lower is a lower is a lower. HOWEVER...

I like(d) John Noveske, his business practices and so forth. He died too young.

It's not a California company but Noveske has never taken a dump on California like some businesses do.

I don't think they are billet. 7075 forging. They do hold resale value though!

That is correct. All the Noveske lowers are forged. The GENII has the appearances of the billet, but with the strength of forged.

Wow, I own two of the Gen 2's and based on the quality I just assumed these were billet. In that case then, these are the nicest forged lowers on the market as far as I am concerned.

What really makes one of these better than say a MEGA? I totally agree with paying more $ for a nice upper by a quality company like Noveske...but a lower...bleh. Especially when you are paying the out of state import DROS fee. I love JoeBobs, i'm just wondering why people would spend that kinda $ on a lower. I do like the Gen2 magwell flare.
