Bay Area 9mm S&W M&P Availability and Prices?
The rebate for Shields has me tempted to pick one up even though I'll never be able to get a CCW
Given that most stores will only confirm via phone if they have any in stock and won't actually quote prices until you're there, if any of you have seen 9mm Shields recently (say in the last two weeks) I'd greatly appreciate if you could post the location and price. I'm in the East Bay and while that's preferred I'd be willing to go as far North as Vallejo, far South as San Jose, and pretty much everywhere else in between. |

Not a bad price, was initially interested but have a couple questions.
Is this the Shield you're referring to? http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1324000 That listing says approximately 350 rounds but in this thread you say you put 600 rounds in: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1313439 In the second link you also say the mag doesn't drop approximately 65% of the time, pulling back the slide occasionally won't eject the chambered round, and slide doesn't go back in to battery when performing press checks. Is the Shield you're selling in the first link the same that you're discussing in the second? |

Ha, fair enough. And reduced price doesn't hurt. Are the other issues still occuring?

Red-Ossier77 said privately to me that he had some similar issues but he polished some internal components. I started carrying my Glock 19 anyways. And all the issues I had with it were when I was shooting steel, as far as I can remember. |

City Arms and Dublin GFOS are expensive.
Give Setter Arms a call. He's in WC and a new guy in the area. Doesn't have much stock on hand. He can order it for you. He works odd hours, so give him a call. He quoted $415 to me over the phone. J&R had them listed at $399. Not worth the extra drive for me. I heard Tracy Rifle and Pistol are cheap, but too far too. I'm in Martinez.

Triple A's in Vallejo has some decent prices if you are in the area. Great selection too.
Have you tried Davidsons Gallery of Guns website? They have many local shops already set up to accept transfers. Prices are all over the map but there are some deals to be had with the right local retailer. Always good to call the local shop and see if they will match or beat the online price too. |

Just wanted to update: City Arms East in Pleasant Hill has the Shield 9/40 on sale for $425. Not the best, but certainly better than other shops.

FYI, i ended up ordering mine from here, was $345 or so. I pay ~$50 in transfer so not a screaming price, but my FFL is 10 mins from me instead of having to drive 30-60 mins each way...
