FFL3 & COE

All, I am contemplating getting this just for buying ammo.
I recently thought I saw a sticky or link to helpful "how to become FFL3" post.
Can't find it now. Can someone point me to something like that?

google the form from the ATF the ca COE from DOJ

I just went through the process.
1) Fill out the form for the ATF
2) mail out form with $30 to atf, mail out duplicate of form for your local PD
3) Wait 2+ weeks (ATF got my application processes in 2 weeks)
4) Go through the COE process, get livescanned etc. CA processed my COE in 2 business days.

That’s basically it. All in all it cost me $120, the FFL03 lasts 3 years and the COE must be renewed yearly.

It’s a super simple process overall

Thanks, I looked at the COE form already. What should I put for "Business Type"? Really none of them apply to me except perhaps "Collector" (which I am not in C&R terms). Also what about the CFD# and Dealer names things?

Yep, just use collector, no business name required.

Mine took 6 weeks. The CA COE only took 7 days if you do everything online. They will email the certificate. Get C&are first.
I use TargetSports to order ammo. I couldn’t find anyone else willing to ship to CA. Know anyone else?
