It was HIS In sight video on the Desert Tech MDR which got the company to fix the mess before too many of them shipped.
I like Ian, I think he is fine, I love watching Forgotten weapons. Dude works hard.

But putting up a video about Hudson and HMG in the same vein, then having a few glasses of wine, then talking for 30 minutes when most viewers probably didn't look beyond the intro.......

HMG was getting all kinds of phone calls about it, angry FB posts, etc. all based on the idea that they were going bankrupt. There was even a post conflating the Hudson bankruptcy on this thread that was deleted.

I think people would be going after Ian if he didn't mention HMG in that video. Since he and Karl did lots of LONG videos with them about the STG build he wanted to mention it being different since he and Karl also had a couple long videos with Hudson. If people aren't capable of actually listening to what is said then that is their problem imo.

Checked out their Facebook page. After watching a couple videos it's obvious they will never fill their orders.

Wow. I'm kind of glad I didn't put a deposit on one back when this all started.

Of course, if they do eventually fill the orders I'll be wishing I had!

I hope everyone, who did place orders, gets their rifles soon.

They seem to have gone completely silent last 6 months, no updates at all on facebook or videos. They had good communication going for the longest time and then nothing. I've lost faith and am going to request a refund, I could use the money. It was an interesting project that really defeated itself when they simply stopped communicating. I didn't need 2 hour videos every week but some simple posts would have been nice.

They really aren't good business people and have acted in the strangest ways. I have a feeling they initially got a lot of money from orders then as things got drawn out no new orders came in and their budget dwindled, exactly when they needed the funds to solve the myriad of issues trying to get so many calibers to work. Then they stopped caring about telling people about the project because H&M probably said : make it work with what you got or not at all.

4 years waiting, if I had invested that 2k in the stock market back then.....

They're offering the full German late war experience, with rifles being promised but never delivered.

I think one of the engineering flops is the use of a cartridge not original to the gun and trying to make it work between having it cycle and feed thru the magazine

The engineering flop was first committed by the Krauts when they made the magazine 2 feet long.

Just got an email from HMG. Apparently now the story is about a lawsuit with a supplier. Translation: indefinite waiting now confirmed to be infinite.

"As many of you know, Hill and Mac Gunworks is working towards releasing the HMG StG 44. In an effort to bring this rifle to its customers, HMG has utilized a number of suppliers to help with the scope of this large project and perform processes and tasks that HMG is unable to do in house or at a larger volume than HMG can provide. At the current time, HMG is involved in a dispute with one of these suppliers and is working diligently to resolve the issue.

What does this mean for the HMG StG? HMG is still and always has been, 100% dedicated to deliver the rifles to our customers who have been patiently waiting. HMG is working around the clock in the areas we are able to in order to make the release of the StG as smooth as possible when this matter is resolved. Below you can find some links to some beautiful slow motion footage of one of the production rifles that HMG has been testing.

In the meantime, we understand that this dispute might make our customers apprehensive or upset. As has always been our policy, we offer refunds on request with no questions asked, and we will continue to do so. We have also planned out some future projects that are similar to other reproduction rifles we have produced (such as the CETME-L), that we think will be an extremely interesting addition to our line of products. We would be more than happy to transfer any deposits placed for the HMG StG to another product that is available to ship.

In closing, we couldn’t do what we’re doing without the support of our customers, and we truly appreciate the patience and faith that we have been given. It is our intention to do everything we can to quickly resolve this dispute and get the production of the HMG StG in order and deliver this awesome rifle to customers so they can experience a bit of history."

The blame game is in full swing. All of the idiots involved in this abomination are wasting their time making videos instead of delivering what they promised. The Instagram/Facebook/YouTube/Tik-Tok generation.

Does anyone have a link to the Vimeo video referenced in the lawsuit or has it been disappeared now?

I searched for it but found nothing. Very interesting, apparently in the video was probably TP's position. From what I gather, things weren't working, so the issue is probably that their stance is that the engineering was bad. Then HMG brings the lawsuit saying it's TP's fault. Not sure what is really happening but it's obvious that there is definitely a blame game going down.

Could be the the subcontractor is to blame, also could be true that HMG dumped the project on them knowing some engineering hadn't been done yet and they got into a place were they would not produce the firearm. Who knows, it's a veritable s--- show at this point.

Calling in for my money back tomorrow.

Of course the mess up was in the multi-calibers, all the people I have ever talked to say it was hard enough just to get a 8mm Kurz version actually running (apparently all companies who ever made repros had issues) so this was one of those moments where people should have realized the extent of the mountain they had to climb.

Last year I designed and engineered two magazines for an existing rifle platform, had it proto-typed and sent out some testers for a few people to use. It was an immense project that humbled me- it took many iterations to get anything to work. There is a reason that companies have teams of engineers and that things cost so much to make.

Sound like this lawsuit will take forever.

I miss Ian McCollum hand jobbing H&M on YouTube. What a tool!

They said they would send me a check on the phone. I asked the fellow about the lawsuit and when anything would be ready and they said "we have no idea". So this is a good time to get that money back for anyone else who bought one. I'll spread the word to a few others I know bought one that it's time.

I even defended HMG when Ian did his critical video, lol. Sad day but since the world is ending anyways......

Got my check today, three weeks later. As long as it clears, I am happy. What an Odyssey. Further away from shooting 8mm Kurz than ever.

I have had customers waiting for these guns for.....

Well let me say this

When they placed their order, my FFL is valid for 3 year intervals - 2013 to 2016, 2016 to 2019, 2019 to 2022. My FFL has since renewed TWICE since they placed their order for a rifle and nothing has come down the pipeline.

It's really sad.

One caliber would have been a more achievable initial offering.
