34 sounds about market rate, but they always get you on the shipping....
Best to order some other stuff if you can to offset the shipping cost.

No. That was the price. You paid it. That's how markets work. It's worth it to you to have the ammo to shoot. I have purchased several bricks of 22s from the marketplace all around $45 a brick. Am I happy? No. Is it worth it for me to take my sons shooting? Yes.
Regrading midway's one box policy, it's better to order several things and add the ammo on to spread shipping around.

I used to pay $1.50 for a box of 50 a couple years ago. Now average seems to be $5.00 a box of 50. You payed the "now" price. Which is fine.
Buy it if you need it. What else can you do? |

I'm use to paying $20 a brick not too long ago. I have a Ruger 10-22 in jail, so I'm a bit desperate to get my hands on sone .22 ammo. The price was ok.. but Yes, they got me on the S&H. Guess i'm gonna have to start hoarding .22 ammo

My experience in the Bay Area is that it is tough to get a much better deal. I have found as low as 6.2 cents a round shipped but mostly have been paying close to 10cents a round. Private sellers in the forums here are selling for prices above those, and they are finding buyers. Box limits and shipping suck! But so does driving to a zillion places and mostly getting nothing. I lucked into a pack of 225 at Walmart for $10, which equates to a $20 brick.... My wife was with me so we got 550 rounds for $20. But that was it .... Midway had the 1000 round m22 for $50... $68 shipped. Rarely finding deals like that. Over the past two moths I have gotten about 4000 rounds varying from 6-10 cents. Before the craze, my buddy got 5000 rounds for something like $175 shipped.... I wish I could find stuff like that. One post today had 5000 for $500.... No different than getting a brick for $50. Times are tough.

If you wanna shoot your firearms you got to have ammo, whether you already had a stash before prices went up or had to buy from the marketplace to load up and hit the range its all relative. Enjoying a day at the range with family and friends or solo is all that matters. Buy what you need, look for a deal when you can get one and enjoy your firearms! |

I've always made a habit of buying ammo when it was on sale, kind of a distant memory now. I hope things will settle down pretty soon, like they did after the 2009-2010 panic. In the mean time, my son and I have enough stashed to get by. There are some pretty good deals floating around on reloading supplies and 9mm.

I sold a Boy Scout leader a case at 35$ a pop.... Could sold it for double as this was months ago. It's sad that 22 is so crazy... I refuse to pay 50.

No. It would cost you much more than $15.00 to drive to their store to pick it up.

$34 for the ammo is about right. It's the shipping that gets you. Look for free shipping coupons or discounts after you've spent a set minimum. There are still some deals on ammo out there, but you've got to look for them. I just received 10 boxes of PMC .223 for $9.80 a box plus $10 shipping. I saw the same ammo at a police supply store for $20 a box, that's $1 per round.

I haven't shot .22lr for manymonths because I can't find the ammo at any of my lgs. The last time few times I shot it I paid $5 a box at my local range for some fiochhi and bought some from big 5 for $10 for 100 Winchester super x and $6 for a box of Remington match ammo. In order for me to get .22 ammo I have to get to my local big 5 on a certain day at 9:45 15 before they open and pray.

Yes, but go shoot it and forget about it.

If you are patient and/or being at the right place at the right time you can score ammo at decent prices.
As of late, there has been a lot of Remington Gold Bullet (as bad as they are) popping up. So far I have been able to get Remington Golden Bullets, Winchester bulk, Federal and Aguila at reasonable prices, including shipping. Sounded a bit odd to find Winchester bulk online as opposed to Wally World but its cheaper than driving and being disappointed. |

I bought that same brick and yeah it was expensive. I did buy a bunch of m855 for 10$ a box and stocked up on ckeaning supplies to offset shipping costs to less than 10% if the total cost.
Oh, and to make you really feel better I spent $175 on a Remington "Bucket o Bullets" shipped to my door. (it was from LAXAmmo, so I had to pay shipping AND tax) but hey, it was worth it considering I'm taking my neice and nephew camping and we'll probably use all that ammo. |

Its what the market will bear, but .10 a round is the going price with shipping included.

So don't pay $50 a brick,I will and will enjoy shooting it rather then
driving around to WM and other places looking for it.Speaking of driving and waiting in line, how much is your time worth? Geez if I make $50 an hour at work,it's not worth my time---the only driving I will be doing is to the range. Pete

Was it Aguila?
Does anyone know if there is any type of this ammo that doesn't smoke like a train?

That's my philosophy right now. I paid $100 for two bricks plus shipping a little while back. But I was completely out of .22 LR and wanted to take my son out shooting the 10/22. So what the hell. I wasn't going let it stop us.
.32 cents a round as stated above that some range was charging? That would stop us. |

Thats why I always have things in my Midway shopping cart waiting for a couple bricks of ammo to add real quick. Kinda like free shipping for the ammo since I was going to order the other stuff anyway. At least thats what I tell myself haha.

No freaking kidding. I am trying to amass as much .22 lr as I can before the mail order ban happens.
I am at 20,000 rounds now, my goal is to triple that. |
