Default Jailed my first AK!

Kind of funny how I just posted a new thread 2 weeks ago about my first Glock. That purchase was by accident and I was there mainly to DROS an R700 I was expecting.

Anyway that R700 showed up but while I was there I handled a few other items. Can't get another handgun, stupid 1 in 30 rule, so I checked out the rifles and I accidently did it again! I jailed my first AK.

It's a Century Arms in 7.62x39

Not my first AK-variant, I've got a Saiga that likes to kick for being a .308

I've read both the good and the bad about these US-made rifles but for the price I paid, it was a cheap investment. I'll follow-up with my own hands-on review once I pick it up and put some rounds down range.

The R700 with KRG X-ray chassis -

The Century Arms AKM with wood furniture -

You have a saiga that kicks like a mule? You must not be serious.

Maybe mule is overly exaggerating; it has a bit more recoil than my bolt-action (both chambered in .308)

I love the wood furniture.

They had several with the magpul stuff but I'm a simple kind of guy. The most I'll put on my other weapons are glass and bipod, at most.

Picked up my AK as well as my R700 (recently bought a new scope for it as well as posted in another thread).

Range report next week!

did Saiga make a 7.72 x 54R that would shoot heavy ball?

Even the .308 Saiga's dont kick much

It don't kick much, but it's light enough that the rifle doesn't soak up much recoil. Very fun to shoot regardless and it's a .308 which I have tons of ammo for
