New to shooting, Corona
Hello, CAL Guns!
I just registered recently, but have gotten into the sport a few months back. The guys at work were always talking about their guns and it piqued my interest and wanted to be able to talk to them about it I've always been into WW1/ WW2 style rifles, so have a few of those on my list to get: Mosin Dragoon or 91/30, Mauser G98/ K98, and the daddy of them all- the M1 Garand I saw that the chapter shoots at Magnum on every first Friday, but I pull a 24hr shift on Fridays in 29 Palms, so I'm not able to make those. However, I'm always up during the week after 4pm, or the evenings on Sat and Sun Enough about me, let's look at some guns! My first firearm- Beretta M9. I want to get some wood grips for it, but site is sold out Rock Island 1903. Serial is a 1908 production, wood rearsenaled to a type 3 or 4 (I think), rebarreled in '43. Haven't shot it yet. I kind of got it because it was at my local gun store, good price, was able to hold it, and condition was pretty good, so figured it'd be the start of my World Wars collection |

From corona too. Welcome to cal guns. I am new to the whole hobby too. My wife and I have some recent formal training at Front Sight in Pahrump, Nevada. This allowed us to be safe, competent and aware of weapons and be responsible gun owners.

im a few months in to shooting.....im not in corona, but chino is close enough...ive noticed that pawn shops have been my favorite places to find some cool stuff....i started off with a mossberg500 (7+1) $250,then a marlin model60 $70, then my latest is a 1907 spandau gew98 mauser (w/ 1920 treaty of versailles stamp) $150.....
ive been to prado and mike raahauge's and they're damn close, but the drive to lytle creek or burro canyon are definitely worth it.....

Although not from Corona, may I suggest an actual "shoot n meet" at Rahaugge's Shooting Range in Corona? Although they charge $30 per person, you have a choice to shoot a 100 yard rifle range, or get your own personal/semi-private ~40 yard range. Most of the "private" ranges have a sort of shack or covered overhang where you can set up, and plenty of parking space - perfect for socializing! All ammo is acceptable, and you can bring almost any type of targets you like (old computer equipment is my favorite!), as long as you pick up of course. The staff there are really laid back and friendly. I myself go there about every other Monday morning.
They just reopened the rifle/pistol range last weekend after a two week renovation, so I am not sure what it looks like now. They also have an entire section of sporting clay throwers, and a new shooting gallery as well - if you are into those. Good shooting! Tom |

Just shot at West End on Sun. Very fun place. We had a Mosin Shootout from the C&R guys in that section of the forums
I'd rather shoot at Lytle Creek as it's half the price, but whichever. I'll need to restock on some ammo, mostly 30-06 Here's the collection as of Sunday. 1903, Mosin Nagant, T53, and Czech Mauser |

Hey guys, fellow Corona dweller here. I'd definitely be down for meeting up and going shooting. I would be down for the chino range and we could also go out to the blm land out past lake Mathews. Either one works for me.
Any chance to meet new people and shoot guns is good enough for me. |

Raahaugee's is in town, but it's $30 for an hr. I'd rather drive out to Lytle Creek Firing Line and pay $14 for the day. If find someone who's a member at West End Gun Club and pay $10 for the day
