Las Vegas has a few places you can rent and shoot full auto firearms. It's not cheap, but you can cross it off your list. I took a friend out to do just that on his bachelor weekend.

I'll bring the twins (SA XDM 3.8 Compact .45 ACP pistols w/PRP Triggers), and even bring the SA 1911 Trophy Match (if necessary) to help with your addiction to BLOCKaid. LOL
LOL
i don't own a Glock right now, just been mesmerized with the .45 since i've been shooting my 1911 lately. it's a blast! pun intended.
been considering getting a glock to finally get into some IDPA/IPSC.
haven't looked too closely at the XD's but i guess i'll start to.

Take a trip to Vegas, you can go full-auto to your hearts content over there.

I'll show up. I can bring a 9x19mm Tokarev (predecessor to the Makarov) and a .357 mag Colt snub nose to the party.

I have a G21 (gen 2, slightly fatter grip then gen 3sf) you can tryout. I've used it for IDPA.
Had the typical trigger work on it.

I fell in love with the ruger SR (at least for now...)
the way they felt in my hands man...

yeah well, I'm into M&Ps, 1911s, and the Ruger SR40s now
the grips on the block and XDs feel too generic and blocky

Do you have to run their ammo in your AR?

Yes, I agree. I do miss the #2, Breast and Thigh, with gravy on the side at Roscoe's when I'm out of town.

The thread should be titled:

CGSSA 14 Event - Monthly Roscoe's Trip - Wed, January 8th - LA/South Bay/WLA, with meet up at LAX Range beforehand.

Had a work related thing come up, but that isn't happening either. Don't think I'm going to make it. Just got a real bad cold.

Can't take any more days off from work this month. I'll need to catch up on what I miss out on this week.

That is my understanding, yes. But remember, if it's your first time there, you will have to buy a shooting card for $2, so $12 in total.

I might make it. I know LAX only allows brass cased cartridges; how do they feel about surplus brass cassed ammo? I want to take my Astra 400.

Not bimetal jacket, not steel core, then OK.
They allow steel case, if not bimetal jacket and not steel core.

(Technically all rifles are supposed to use their ammo, but if they don't stock it and you have ammo that conforms to the above rules, they let it slide.)

Will update roster tonight. See y'all tomorrow night!

BTW, don't ask me what the raffle prize will be this year, that's determined sometime around May/June. I *DO* have a consolation SWAG bag from Chad/Roundeye to give away.

Man oh man...i'll have to make a last min decision on this one depending on how I feel.

Maybe the grand prize this year should be a Cert for a Tactical Carbine Class
OR
a variety of Voodoo Tactical gear (backpack, dump pouch, hydro pack, etc) or any other company like 5.11, etc
OR
spam can of ammo

It's excellent in my opinion, I am just mad I can't afford one.

The mag release lock on the Tavor for CA-compliance is a total ***** though, even worse than AK.

Since your looking at the XD's take a look at the M&P's. I have the XD9 and also the M&P 22, 9, and 45 and although I love my XD9, the M&P's have slowly taken over as my favorite right now.

good option. I wouldn't take it though. Going featureless is like... eating food without salt. I gotta have SOMETHING tasteful

Not sure how the Raddlock works on the Tavor but all CA-compliant Tavors I've seen use a cage around the mag release and the release is convex towards the opening, which makes it that much worse.

I've seen the cage. I think the ring would still work.

Welcome to calguns! Hope to see you at the next one. Remember to check out the burro shoot n que thread. That's at the end of this month. Great shoot event with pot luck lunch! It's family friendly too.
