Wow that looks like fun! I always contemplating trying something like this and even though I'd come in dead last, I'd still enjoy it very much. I'd be at a heavy disadvantage though since I don't have any standard capacity mags Thanks for sharing.

And your in luck because they have a "Limited" class for standard cap mags. I only have 3 prebans the rest were 10's. Even in unlimited you can keep up. Many guys run 1911's with 8 rounders and wrecked me and my cousins scores lol |

Just got the match results. I didn't do half as bad as I thought I did.
Placed 16th overall. 6th in limited class. |

Good stuff!
I wish more people would get out and do these kind of things. We have a steel shoot every Tuesday even here. I try and try to get new folks to come shoot. But most have a very misplaced idea of "competing" in a match if any kind. And I get it. You have to step out of your comfort zone to try something new. But almost without fail, most of the folks who come to shoot once get hooked and become regulars. I have yet to go to a match where without fail almost all the folks there are super welcoming and helpful to the new guys and gals. For our steel shoots we have folks shoot all kinds of pistols....compact, single stack, limited, and full blown open guns. Again...good job and stick with it.

Yea it was awesome! Me and my cousin both had a great time. Even my GF said she wants to try 22 with us next time.
But I don't think the issue really is competing, but making an effort to get the gear and ammo and most of all just getting motivated. Me and my cousin put this off for a LONG time, finally got our a**es in gear and glad we tried it out. I think thats where the issue lies. Just like the gym, it's just so hard to motivate and gather your gear and get out the door and just do it. Same for the LR CAPRC matches. We have been putting that off for about a year now. Just can't get in gear to show up. But we both REALLY want to go. Hopefully soon we can make it out there at least once. |
