Thumbs up Lot's of fun!

Preliminary report:

Lot of fun and lots of good people! They're still out there! I only stayed a couple of hours as the wife didn't feel well and was sitting by herself up in the truck. She said she was fine - I felt guilty leaving her up there all by herself.

Awesome turnout. At least 25 people when I left at about 1:00.

Random observations:

I am really out of shape! Between my fatness and my knee that needs to be replaced the hill down to shorter range stuff nearly killed me! And it took two trips up and two trips down!

I was taken aback with how young the entire crowd is! Kokopelli, myself and the wife, MikeH1, Seth, and the gentleman with the Levi jacket up with the long range crew (sorry I don't remember your name) were the only ones who had any appearance at all of approaching that 1/2 century mark.

I was shooting my handguns great today. I nailed clay pigeon fragments at about 25-30 yards with my 1911 GI!

There are a WHOLE LOT of Evil Black Rifles in this group! What a hoot watching y'all shoot them!

Nice to go out and have that many people be self regulated and safe!

The young men next to me with the arsenal, had some stuff that was buffeting me with shock waves from the side! Wow!

I let Kokopelli's son shoot my Marlin 81DL with the peep and the hair trigger, they let him shoot their AK - I think he'll go home a very happy camper today!

Thanks eveyone!

This ol' boy got tired and I eventually had to drag my son away. Thanks to everyone who attended! There was a great community spirit.

It was like the world's best gunshow. Stphnman20's Glock blew me away as it was a real tack driver when I did my part. That Marine gave my son a real treat when he showed him how to shoot an AR for the very first time. Everyone was real nice. You couldn't ask for a better group of shooters to spend the afternoon with.

I'm going to rest my 55 year old bones now...

Gary

Excellent turnout and a lot of good people out there today! I just walked in the door so I'm going to go ahead and upload some pictures and post them up.

I, as well, was very impressed with everyone's attention to safety and courtesy. There were a lot of cool toys out there! Thanks to everyone for being so accommodating and willing to share. Next time out I hope to be able to join the long-range guys up on the hill with my Grendel. Ryan, thanks for hanging around and letting us try your beauty of a rifle.

For the "older" guys that came and got worn out, I'm only 23 and I was running around winded today. That hill is a killer! Once I upload the pics I'm going to be laying down for a while.

Looks like y'all had a lot of fun. We were shooting from the area where the guy in blue is down range when I was there 3 weeks ago. Not sure I'm wild about seeing people holding firearms when someone's downrange though.

Glad everyone made it out alive. Haha.

Frijolito and I stayed for a while after everyone had left. Some dirtbike riders did end up coming up the hill as we were packing up. They seemed normal and and ended up waving as they passed me but I made sure I was discreetly armed until they had rode away and we were on our way.

Too close for comfort on more than one level! They passed within feet of me.

I only spent like $14 on ammo, I made sure to bring only .22lr chambered handguns(and one .22short,a 20ga and a .22lr rifle) and I found some spare ammo from my stash for your rifles thatI have had for YEARS,don't remember what I paid for it!

You have a lot of ammo left, time for another Willow Springs shoot soon?

I wish I'd of had more time to plan for this, I'd of brought other guns, especially a shotgun to shoot clays with. I decided to go to the shoot like less than 24 hrs before the shoot.

Great getting to meet everyone. I was up top most of the time so I didn't get to meet as many of you as I would have liked.

LewDog and crew: Thanks for the trigger time on the shotguns. Its been a while since I've done skeet and it shows! I had a blast. Thanks again.

Good to see moonclip and frijolito with some wheelguns. Glad to see I'm not alone in my S&W addiction!

I was planning on bringing a bunch of 9x19 chambered handguns next time but maybe I will bring a bunch of .38spl S&W's instead then since there is revolver fans going. I have like 9 S&W revolvers so chambered, I suppose I like S&W's too

I hear ya... They were both not loaded and nowhere near the triggers. I do agree that no guns should be in hand during cease fire. I forgot to bring a table out so there wasn't much room to put them down. Everyone was being very safe overall.

LewDog and crew: Thanks for the trigger time on the shotguns. Its been a while since I've done skeet and it shows! I had a blast. Thanks again.

Good to see moonclip and frijolito with some wheelguns. Glad to see I'm not alone in my S&W addiction!
You're very welcome, Ryan. You were doing pretty well after a few shots though. And thank you for the trigger time with your beauty of a rifle. I hope to join you guys at the top of the hill sometime soon!

You're welcome and thank you all for coming out. I had a great time, as did everyone else it would seem. I'm definitely willing to do another soon. I just hope we can have another day with such perfect weather. As time goes by it's going to keep getting colder though so if anyone has any idea when they want the next one to be I'll go ahead and start to set it up.

The one thing I noticed we will need next time are more targets/stands. It was fun but just not enough to shoot at.
