Default 1911 work in San Diego

Hi all. I'm switching the factory sights on my Kimber for some Meprolight's. And possibly having an ambidextrous safety installed as well. Can anyone recommend a good place to give my business?

I had the smith at Parallax Tactical fit an extended ejector for me and he did a good job.

I've never heard of Gussler's. Myself as well as several friends have had AR work done by Parallax. The customer service there is outstanding.

Ray at Ironsights in Oceanside. He runs his own gunsmithing biz but sees people there. 5-10 pm Monday nights. Did sight/trigger replacement on my TRP and some deburring on the ambi safety.

Greg at Ambrose Armory is really good. He's in Escondido. Had sights and some AR work done by him and his turnaround is awesome.

I second Greg at Ambrose Armory in Escondido.

I've had him work on 2 of my 1911's and have been extremely happy with all the work he has done.

Their prices and speedy service is unbeatable too!

I would not recommend Parralax for handgun work but the are very good when it comes to ARs

Gusslers is very good

Wiser Owl Good

Ambrose Armory is new never used but them seem to have very good Yelp reviews.

Clothy and Sons average

Cool

Late follow up for anyone who cares..... I took it to Chase at Wiser Owl in Miramar and couldn't be happier. Customer service, knowledge, and overall professionalism were top-notch. I highly recommend this shop. I actually wound up buying a Hawk 982 (Norinco 870 clone) while waiting.
(And if you happen to read this Chase my t-shirt size is XL!)

For those who don't know, wiser owl is not an easy shop to find. If you google their address and want to stop by make sure you go to the very back of the strip mall and yes, it's in the very very back at the lower level.

Found chase one day looking for another store nearby.

Nodnarb77,
Yes Wiser Owl did and is becoming Gunfighter Tactical.
We absolutely will be keeping Chase on as our gunsmith and none of those prices will change. You will find we have even more smithing parts in store now. Although, 1911 parts are very specialized, and might need to be ordered, we can do just about anything you want.

Corbin,
Yes, we are rather diffacult to find. This is a struggle that does play to our extreme disadvantage. We will be focusing on more signage as the days roll forward. Our first order of business was to revamp the store. Hopefully, those who know where we are can spread the word.

Thanks for your support. And remember the Grand Re-opening this Saturday from 10-5pm.
