cheap / loud reusable .22 LR target for kids
well I like using it too, I use 6" x 10" 3/16" box steel, regular carbon steel try different sizes, i put a cap on some, just a 3/16" flap on top, small welds hold it, different sound, but still nice, seems great both ways! like a cow bell! good luck, pics show it,
Stand is 1/2" rebar 3' tall 3' wide, just A frame construction, used bailing wire to suspend them, self tapping screws into the box steel, used it at 50 / 80 yards with a pistol / off hand iron sights practice, much louder than a flat steel. good luck! Total cost: box steel $10 (all you see, plus another smaller one) Re-bar $5 (home depot, 20' lenght, but you must cut it your self, bring a tool) Last edited by new cal shooter; 04-28-2008 at 8:43 AM.. |

Can you provide some more specs on this?
Dimensions/Materials? It looks like at least #8 bar and you said the targets use 3/16" thick steel, but what else? Any ricochet issues?

here you go, in the first post details, I use it with .22, but at further distance, sure you could try 9mm / 38 spl but .22 LR will not destroy the steel or frame
If anyone is interested in these frames, I would be willing to make a deal / trade you can design it any size / any thickness, I'll weld it up for you, cash or trade? Fresno area / north bay area delivery only, I enjoy welding. Thanks! Last edited by new cal shooter; 04-28-2008 at 8:49 AM.. |
