Default November Inland Empire Chapter Monthly Shoot! Friday, November 2nd @ 7;30pm

Friday, November 2nd at Rancho Magnum Range @ 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM

The shoot will follow the order of "Meet, Shoot, Eat". The "eat" portion will be held at Applebees.

We are going to put together a little competition at this shoot, and the winner of it will get a little prize We are also going to hold a drawing for a prize as well, so even if you can't shoot, you still have a chance to win some great Calguns swag!

The meeting will be held in the lobby. This is where you will sign in. Once everyone is checked in I get the list to the range staff and you pay the range fee before entering the range. Once we are ready we will be given our lane assignments. Since all of the shooting is going to be afterhours and after the meeting, there will be NO WAIT! We will have a full two hours to shoot.

Range Fee:
As long as we get at least 11 people it is $20.

Address to Rancho Magnum:
9049 9th St.
Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730

Address to Applebees:
10709 Foothill Blvd
Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730

I am going to try having a place to eat settled before hand so that we can ensure proper accomodations are made for us. Applebees worked out nicely the two times we have eaten there and has a nice rexlaed atmosphere to it.

Competition:
Going for simple and fun, and if they have the target, something to match the time of year! For this, you get 10 rounds, no reloading needed (unless your gun has less than 10 rounds). Hitting the target gets you 10 points, missing the target -10, and a really bad miss or not fired -20. course of fire will begin at low-ready. You will have 15 seconds.

As far as the specifics go.... Well, you'll just have to see that night!

Rimfire or centerfire, except rimfire will have to shoot at a target at a greater distance.

Guns Allowed At range:
Handguns at common handguns calibers
Rifles: Rimfire + 5.56 IF you purchase their frangible ammo at the range
No shotguns

For anyone interested in coming out that missed the previous ones, please come on out, it is a very enjoyable time with other Calgunners.

Look forward to see you all there!

Please be sure to post that you are coming, any guest you are brining, and if you will be joining the competion and if you are joining us for dinner. This will allow us to make sure we have the right number of targets for the competition and lets me know that we have enough people to get our negociated rate of $20/person.

Current Roster (10):

SeanCasey +1
bikr4jc
john67elco +1
FullAuto
AR500Targets +2
biffed

I've never been to one and am interested.. I've been to Magnum but just to look around never fired a weapon in there or any indoor firing range. I'm a total newb to all that. What firearms exactly could I bring. I have a 22 pistol, .40 pistol and various rifles.

For pistols pretty much any common handgun caliber is good to go. For rifles, rimfire is ok and you can use 5.56 if you buy and use the frangile ammo at the range. They do have a rule of no Tula or Wolf ammo.

The range will let you rent their guns during our afterhours session and of course calgunners are a friendly bunch and if you see something you want to shoot just ask the owner and they will probably let shoot a couple rounds.

I have a .17hmr, .40, 10/22 and a .22 pistol I would use, the rest are all large caliber centerfire rifles. I'm most likely in on this, have to figure out a few things first. Thx for the heads up.

How much ammo should we expect to use for the competition portion only? Just 10 rounds? Thanks.

Yes the competition part is only 10 rounds. I try to make it so that competition is quick and fun and doesn't leave the shooters who don't win thinking "man I should have saved that ammo". Plus, too many holes it gets hard to score and that already takes a bit of time (longer than the competition I think, lol)

When are you bringing the cz & sr-22 for us to covet? I mean try out...?

The fiasco wasn't at magnum, it was a super secret shoot so secret that less than a dozen of us bothered to show up... Biker4jc and I had the last laugh and shots that my shoulder is still regretting...

The aftermath of the weekend:

Ah, the event that was canceled but the originator of the event apparently didn't make sure everyone got the memo... This is the first mention I've heard of people showing up there after it was canceled, I had been hoping that everyone got the word. Not cool that some people didn't get the word. Not sure fiasco is a strong enough word...

Distance will be announced at the shoot, needless to say it will be far enough that Rimfire shooters will not have any distinct advantage over centerfire shooters, but not so far that they are penalized for shooting rimfire either.

What? Are you going to shoot the Max while I shoot the Bearcat? Lemme guess, bikr4jc is gonna shoot the Dirty Harry on the other side?

They will keep going as long as people keep showing up! And since these shoots are a great way to meet other Calgunners and have some fun, I don't see these shoots ending anytime soon!

No definite commitment this time; I will do my best as I have to be at the Shootist in Murrieta at 8am to work a Calguns booth. We will see.

Sean, will there be time for shooting other guns prior to the competition as was done with the first couple of shoots or will it be straight competition only.
