i have a bit of spare time now and then and all the tools and experience for assembly from parts, including end mills and lathes if something needs adjustment. if you're ever out in the east bay, send me a PM and we'll knock out a complete assembly in my workshop for an hour and a beer. i also have random springs, pins, and so on somewhere in a couple boxes of spare AR parts that came from various builds.

The man has made a promise to give the rifle away for free to another Calgunner when he becomes more established.

I remember what it was like to be a poor student. If you pull this off, I'm good for a brand new 10/30 pmag and 30 rounds of 5.56. Good luck op. Thread subscribed.

I think it's kind of a neat idea - a loaner rifle built by calguns that's moved around for new shooters to get into the hobby without needing oodles of cash.

This is either a journalist, politician or cop who's going to go public with this to show how he got a FREE assault weapon on the internet. Everyone should have just ignored this thread.

I read this thread with mixed feelings. On one hand it is great that members are actually willing to donate stuff to this person.

On the other hand, to join an online community such as this one and immediately start asking for free stuff is beyond revolting. This isn't a member who has had a turn of bad luck and needs food or shelter. This is someone who wants big boy toys without paying for it. There are lots of good people on CG who I have dealt with and I have given stuff away before too.

But in this case, I'd sooner empty my spare parts bin into the dumpster than reinforce this sort of repugnant, entitled behavior.

I can understand where you are coming from Bobby, but would it change your mind if he does as promised and passes along the rifle to someone else?

Just to let you know I've been a member of this community for a few years now. I did not join and immediately post this thread. Also, I hope to be giving way more than I receive once I can afford to. I am a firm believer in sharing with others. So Bobby thanks for sharing your comments (though I respectfully disagree). Once I can afford to, I will be sharing with others in this great online community.

Thank you all for reading. And thanks Uber.

Yes, I stand corrected based on your join date. That translates to about a whopping one post per month since 2011, most which are in this current begging thread.

Everyone knows what begging, groveling, and panhandling is. Except when it is the person panhandling. Then it is called "requesting donations".

Defending yourself with promises to "pay it forward" down the road is pointless. No one is going to remember or care what an anonymous internet beggar did with his charity built Frankenrifle in 6 months or a year.

I was a poor student at one point as well. Ham sandwiches and ramen everyday. If now is not the time for expensive things (firearms are expensive), then the right time will come later. I'm not lecturing, rather food for thought.

Nothing worse than not being able to afford the ammo or range fees. I garauntee you'll want to shoot more than a few dozen rounds.

If and only if OP posts a pic of the rifle completed after he receives everything, I will donate 100 rounds of 223.

Good luck OP

No where in the OP does he say he is going to give the rifle away. He only says the he will "pay it forward" once he is able. It is cool that so many of you are willing to be so generous, but I think this thread is sheer douche baggery.

I completely agree. Finish school, get yourself a job and enjoy the hobby when you financially can instead of having CGN members paying for your hobby. You're a member since 2011 and no posts until this thread? let me guess... if and when you complete your free rifle by CGN members, that's going to be the last day we see you here or... we will see another thread "Calguns can you help me shoot my AR with FREE Ammo and paid range time" or is it going to be posted on AR15.com marketplace

*EDITED*

Just noticed this ad isn't your first post. Your first/second post was actually on another free giveaway thread looking for handouts/giveaways.

Very peculiar. Hey OP...what proof can you provide to validate who you are?

I find it odd CGN members would give ammo and the parts of the "scary" rifle to a random person.

A AR-15 is not a lot of money, If you work overtime 21 days in a row like I did with 4 kids you will have the money. AR-15 is not a handout rifle , I do not all ways talk to Obama voters but when I do I ask for them to supersize my combo.
