Default CALGUNS, you helped me build an AR. NOW lets GIVE it AWAY!!! Sacramento

UPDATE: The Rifle is Complete! Continue to the 5th page to see the finished product! Thank you Calguns!!!!! LET GIVE THIS RIFLE AWAY!!!

Hey Fellow Calgunners,

I'm trying something out because I know the people on this site can be very good and generous. I am a poor college nursing student who wants to build his first AR. I have no extra money and am trying to find a job. I would appreciate so much anyone that could donate parts towards this project. If you have extra lowers, barrels, trigger kits, stocks, sights, grips, etc let me know. Anything extra that I get I'll donate to someone else that may need something. And when I eventually start making money down the road I'm going to make sure to pay it all forward. If people donate great! If you can't, no worries.

Thank you Calguns ahead of time.

My number is (805)-714-7494 if you want to text or call or you can PM me. I can meet anywhere in Sacramento, Gold country, or occasionally Napa, Bay area.

*UPDATE 6/17/14*
buffer tube assembly needed
.
Go to final page for update.
Thanks for all the help guys!

That's a good point. I can't trade full nursing care. But if you need some work done (yard, cleaning, etc) or some in home care giving. I'm always willing to work.

Nick

Good luck with your endeavor O.P.

Parts like a stock trigger, hand guards, or pistol grip may be relatively cheap and plentiful to some, but Id be surprised if you will find someone willing to give up parts such as an upper, barrel, bolt group, and especially a good lower.

Although the members of Calguns can be a generous crew, the above mentioned parts are not cheap and most people that have them are looking at them as part of their next build as opposed to giveaways.

Do you own other firearms, as a trade may be possible for what you need.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm seeing how much help I can get. I know parts aren't cheap and I'm just seeing what the generosity of other's can bring. I'm so nubie with things that I don't even know if those washer and screw posts are jokes or legit. Whatever people send my way I'll take.
Thanks guys.

OP, if you have to ask for donations to build a rifle, then this is not the right hobby for you. wait until you finish your nursing program and buy the rifle of your dreams when you can afford it.

I don't know if this guys serious or what? I can understand needing a few odds and ends here and there but your asking for pretty much everything. I have no problem giving to some people that NEED it like some diapers for the baby or groceries... something along those lines. Since everyone is so generous around here, hey guys I really want a ACR if anyone can donate one it would really be appreciated.

If you don't even have the money to buy your AR piece by piece, then you definitely don't have money for ammo. Why don't you just rent guns at the range until you can afford your own. This will do two things
1. You will get more exposure to more guns and be better able to make choices on what fits you.
2. You won't be raiding everyone else's spare parts.
Bottom line, if you can't afford, then you don't get to play.

I would like to see if this can be done.

Collectively Calgunners have enough parts sitting around to arm a small army, just sitting there gathering dust.

Where's your sense of adventure?
Where's your sense of charity?

What do you say fellows?

UberPatriot...You are the man. I really appreciate your positive feedback and your faith in everyone on this site. To everyone else, whether you like what I'm doing or on, thanks for taking the time to at least read the post. Honestly, I know its asking a lot. I'm seeing how far I can take this and if it works you all will have made a young man very happy. I am going to be a nurse hopefully in the near future and once I start making decent money I will be able to build an AR of my own. At that point I make this PROMISE: I will donate the AR made from any donated parts to someone here on Calguns as their first rifle to pass on the good will and charity that other's have shown me. I will also donate the ammo for them to get started shooting.

Thank you all for reading.
PS- Bodger, I swear I'm not DOJ.

Hey Nick, the post office in my area is closed today so I'll ship Monday instead.
Also, I went through my parts box and found some additional Items I don't need.

Dpms buttstock
Rail height picatinny Gas block
Blackhawk pistol grip
Three prong flash hider and crush washer (kind of beat up though)
Old school m4 hand guard.
Charging handle with extended latch

It's all ugly stuff.

I'm building a cheapy as a present for a friend, all he will have to do is buy a lower which his wife has already set aside the money for. I've got most the parts via psa sales waiting for a barrel, nut, gas tube and block, buffer tube spring and buffer always keeping an eye out. Good of you to help the guy.
