Maybe on sale... I remember the $300 shipped was palmettos thing and what put them on the map back in 09 cause no one could beat that. $320 to $350 shipped was always the norm for XM193. At least post Obama. $300 did happen, but wasn't an everyday price. I'd say bi or tri monthly maybe.

You are probably correct but I do remember buying at least 3 cases for $300 shipped. Man those were good prices. Most of these prices were in 2010-2011. After the Connecticut shooting everything went downhill.

Yea I found my self saying the same thing. Then of course one day one of my fire buddies (in his 50's) made the infamous, that's not cheap, I can't believe you paid for that, back in the 80's I use to get a case for $180 shipped.

Things only get more expensive sadly. But seeing $350 again is a sight for sore eyes. Glad it's made a come back I didn't think we would ever see a case sub $400 again after all that BS.

^I almost bought that a week before the price of the Federal XM193 came down, not sure if it's exactly M193 spec (considering M193 is not NATO spec)......

Good price for brass-cased never the less.

This has been discussed to no end that XM either means X as in e"X"tra 193 surplused, X as in rejections or not to spec, and some have even said as is just a way to separate civilian 193 from the military ammo as if different materials are used for the actual NATO or the factories for civ/NATO ammo are not the same.

But no one has yet to back up those theories with a solid back of information than a outsourced blog who knows a guy who knew a guy who dated a girl who knows a guy that said he had he inside scoop and knows for a fact or through the great vine or I heard once.

Better deal and I have always had good luck with this line of Federal.. cheaper and you get stripper clips which, if you use a speed loader, is a nice little cost saved bonus, but big time saver to come this way.

did anyone accept the shipping insurance?

they state they are not responsible but it is my understanding that the sender is ultimately responsible for the item if there is a problem.

If I dont receive my order I am not responsible for the item, just file a dispute w/ cc company and it will be resolved.

any feedback?

As a buyer, that is a sh*tty way to do business. If you are too cheap to pay for shipping insurance why should the shipper be responsible for your decision?

If you opt out of insurance, and it is an optional, I think you would have a hard time winning that dispute with your CC company. Then again I never do, not worth the risk to save a measly $5.

Actually, pre panic was post election. Prices steadily increased, in the second half of 2012 XM855 and XM193 was going for around $0.40-$0.45 per round.

So, in retrospect, 5.56/.223 prices are actually lower than pre-panic pricing right now.

Now if you go back to 2011 that stuff was really cheap. Anybody remember the Bulk packed 1k round cases of XM193 from Brownells for $260 each w/ free shipping & coupon?

Ahhhh those were the days...

Dont worry prices are headed that way again!

All the guys that stocked up are full to the gills and broke. The time is coming, prices will be normal again soon!

btw, The quote was for $12.

And as the buyer should not be reqd to ensure the product gets to me. Where else do you order online and have to pay ins to make sure it gets to you? The insurance is for the seller.

This is how it works on ebay, it protects you the seller if an item does not arrive, not the other way around.

There are at least three online sellers (that I can think off), that now offer optional shipping insurance. Copes, SG ammo, and Targetsports. There are probably more out there too.

SG ammo was the first to do it, and now I'm seeing others do it too.

Shipping insurance (actual cost) is generally 1% of the total cost of the items being shipped, per package, give or take.

So I would expect to see a $12 insurance charge on a single package valued at $1,200.

Or $12 on two packages valued at $500 each.

Some people are extremely cheap. Given the choice, they would forego the cost of insurance. It also gives the seller a competitive edge on shipping price.

Paypal and Ebay have their own set of rules. The rest of the world does not have to follow their terms, if they did we would not even be able to buy ammo or some firearms accessories.

Since you willfully "opt out" of insurance, I don't see how you could win a dispute with your credit card company.

Has anybody out there ever declined insurance and had a package lost? What happened?

I can't say I've had a package lost...and I never get the insurance! I've probably bought well over 100 items in the last couple years and I've never had an item go missing...

Knock on wood...

Ordered last Monday, and still haven't received anything. Those that got their shipment, did you get an email with tracking? Btw, my shipping insurance was only $5.xx.

I ordered some .22 from Cabelas last year and the package was lost by UPS, I dont believe there was an insurance charge and since I never received it they just credited my acct. I dont know if they have changed that policy now but it was no fuss.

Pkg was never delivered, I would assume UPS would be on the hook to reimb cabelas but not sure how it works on their end.

Ordered 3 separate bulk orders over the last few weeks. As of today, all have arrived. You should have gotten a tracking number within your second email from them that notes "ready to ship"

Check your spam folders too...all of my emails from them regarding my order went there. I received my 5.56 with no issues. Wouldn't hesitate to order from them again.
