Default Bought my son his first rifle....

Just in time for his 4th birthday in a few weeks. Stevens Model 15-a single shot, $85 shipped with my type 03. Gotta use it while I still can!

Also, neener neener to fal_762x51 for being the first one to arm their child.

Don't know if you're familiar with a guy on youtube that goes by Hickok45, but he bought his son a ruger 10/22 the day he was born. Now that's starting them young.
Congrats on getting your son started young and teaching him to be safe.

Remember that as an 03FFL you can't dispose of any C&R long guns to people under the age of 18. Maybe your wife would like the Model 15 if it doesn't fit your collection anymore.

The deal actually fell through but I picked up a marlin model 81c for $70 shipped with no stock. I'm now looking at a Boyd's stock for $50 unfinished. I don't know what I'd do with myself if I didn't dig up these projects.

Good deal! I'm thinking soon it will be time to find a cricket for my stepson. He's turning 6 soon but had some maturing todo before I'd start him shooting.

I think you should start them young.

I bought my daughter a Chipmunk for her 5th birthday because my wife finally agreed to it. What I didn't tell my wife is that I got a deal on 2 of 'em! Our son was only 3 but he got a rifle too.

My daughter still has hers and has used it to start her kids on shooting. My son's is in the back of my safe -- maybe someday he will settle down ...

I know someone who has that beat, he bought a 10/22 for his unknown son/daughter the day his wife told him she was pregnant... he bought a second when they found out it was going to be twins. The girls turned 2 a few months ago, I don't think they are shooting yet

Congrats OP on starting your son young!
Looking forward to a range report and picture for his first time out.

Thanks for all the comments to everyone. Of course I understand I can't give the gun to my son. I purchased it with him in mind, we'll put it that way. Hopefully we'll still be able to own guns by the time he's all grown up! Not trying to be pessimistic, it seems like we're headed the direction of the UK or Australia.
