Default 2011 SHOT show

I missed last years SHOT show because my inactive FFL would not let me input it. I have used this in the past and it worked fine. I think they inputed some new software that disallowed inactive FFL or some such thing. Does anyone have a extra place on their FFL's to allow me to go to the SHOT show?

Thanks

Last year I was able to go without an FFL number. I was still working on the FFL so I called their customer service to coordinate my pass. They didn't even request the information/documentation that their website said would be required.

I would call them up and tell them your situation. If that doesn't work, I may have an open spot you can use.

That is because they check your FFL against ATF's EZ-check website, or DL a copy of the FFL spreadsheet from ATF. So, if you aren't on either of those as a valid FFL, the sign up software won't allow it. that is why those of us who attend using our C&R 03FFL have to fax in a copy of our FFL. That is because 03FFLs can't be verified via EZ-check due to privacy concerns.

I recently received my 03FFL and would like to get some passes if possible.

Will I be able to get into the SHOT show using my C&R 03FFL? I attended the show last year, but that was because a gunsmith buddy of mine got me a pass. I was unaware that 03FFLs qualify...

yes, you can register with a C&R FFL.

Quote:
jack: question about registration, C&R FFLs are still acceptable?

Devon: Yes they are

jack: how do we register, using the first "register" option insed of the "register iwth FFL ID number:"?

Devon: One moment please

Devon: If they have a C&R FFL (Curios & Relics) they first need to select Register on the first page of the Standard Registration portion of the online form then they will need to enter their C&R FFL number in the field that asks them to describe their Industry Affiliation on the first page of the Standard Registration portion of the form. If they select the option Register with FFL ID Number the system will not recognize their number.

You can also just geta NSSF membership. It's not hard to get into the show. I wish that they would make it harder though, since it's always packed.

How does that work? Just sign up NSSF and they will allow you to go? Thanks for the info.

You can attend with a FFL03 here's how:

You can attend if you have an FFL03 License. On the registration page
select the 'Register' option then fill in your first name, last name,
company name, email address then enter your FFL03 number where is asks
to describe your industry affiliation.

Default Shot show tickets

OK, I filled out the online application using my C&R number. Now what happens? Do I get the ticket mailed to me or does it come online? How long until I hear something? Can I take a guest?

check your email,

you should get something like this;

Quote:
Thank you for your interest in the National Shooting Sports Foundation's 2011 SHOT® Show. Your request to attend the show has been received. In order to process your request, we must verify that you meet the show's attendee registration identification and validation requirements.

Along with this letter, please e-mail or fax the following by December 15, 2010:

• A copy of your current and valid government issued photo identification (e.g. driver's license, passport, etc.)

• Documentation demonstrating current shooting, hunting and outdoor trade affiliation or commercial involvement in the military, law enforcement or tactical markets. Please click here for a list of acceptable documentation.

Email: validation@shotshow.reedexpo.com
Fax #: (203) 840-9409

Please review the information below.
at that point you need to provide a copy of your C&R FFL to validate your registration.

they will then send you a confirmation that you are registered.

OK, so I comitted to working the FCSA booth for most of one day. But, it's sort of nice to have a booth to stash stuff at during the show. Also,
I really enjoyed working the booth last year. ke6guj even hung out there and pushed FCSA membships for most of the day that the FCSA BOD had their annual BOD meeting.

Documentation demonstrating current shooting, hunting and outdoor trade affiliation
Still say you DON'T need a FFL or C&R Almost any retail sales tax ID will work fine .You sell Bows Camo Spotting scopes ect nothing to do with guns just hunting stuff and outdoors stuff. They want as many people as they can to attend-Think to join NSSF you need the gun connection. But not to go to the Shot Show .More than 1/2 of the exhibitors have nothing to do with guns or Loaded ammo .

Everyone needs a ticket and a badge. How many tickets and badges can you buy? I have never heard of a limit.

Gotcha, I kinda figured as an industry only event I'd be able to bring an "employee" or two in with my pass. So each person needs to register independently, but under my company name...

That is correct. No badge, no entrance. No one under 16.

The SHOT Shows greed could end up being its downfall. If legitimate buyers can't get around their confusing show and there are nothing but looky lous there, why not just go to a wholesaler show instead where you know you aren't going to have to wade through a sea of camera jockey's?

I mean at least make it some what of a challenge to get a ticket.

My pleasure.
I'll be leaving Vegas at the end of Thursday's show(via rental car) and staying at the Saddle West in Pahrump Thur/Fri night then back to Vegas to fly home to San Diego Saturday night after the class is over. There's no way I could look at all the fun stuff at the show and not go shoot something at least full auto. I've already blown a couple hundred at "The Gun Store" for 10 minutes of fun in the past, for about the same price in ammo(and my membership) I can spend two days shooting @ Frontsight.

I'd be happy to give somebody a lift to Pahrump, back and forth from Frontsight/hotel, and back to Vegas if anybody needs it...but you'll have to get your own room, they're only 40.00 a night.
