It functions completely fine with the side saddle. I've kept slugs in all 6 slots while shooting the winchester universal target loads, the remington target loads and even a bunch of winlite low recoil buckshot and absolutely NO issues. I was very reluctant with the Mesa before I installed it but I'm glad I did because it has not caused me any issue and my slug change-over drills are much easier now. I'm going to install the top rail soon to try and run it with an aimpoint T1 so I can mess around with it like that for awhile. I'll post pics and results of that soon.

Hey nice setup. I actually just bought an M2 Tac from a local gun show. I also just ordered the same Mesa Sureshell sidesaddle. I'm just worried about the whole sidesaddle being held together with just one bolt.... Have you had any issues with it coming loose or any worries regarding its durability? Also, did you use blue loctite on the bolt? Thanks.

Nice job on the stippling and the overall setup. The side saddle may get a bit heavy if you ever go through a course that involves a lot of movement, but it will definitely make your proactive reloads faster.
If you're interested, TJ Johnston is running an outstanding shotgun course this Saturday, March 17. I took that course twice a couple of years ago. It's a lot of fun and really helps developing your skills. BTW - TJ's favorite shotgun is a Benelli M2 ;-)

I'm thinking it may have been the CG&G Charging Handle? It may be too heavy, because of it's large size and heavy metal. I put back the stock handle, but haven't tried it out yet. Your thoughts? What charging handle do you have? |

I use a Dave's metal works charging handle which is heavy duty but not very heavy. I would say you try the stock charging handle first before looking for other problems. Have you considered maybe you're handling the gun wrong? Clenching down on it hard or not having a firm shouldering will also impact it's function. Good luck. Please update with new results if any.

How do you like the Vltor Quick Sling attachment? Was considering one.
