Default Ruger should offer 10/22 without stock

Anyone else immediately swap out the stock on a 10/22? I wish I could buy them without stocks, as they just accumulate in my garage, and I would hope the price would be less as a result of not having to supply or install it.

Just a thought.

Ruger should offer a 10/22 that doesn't need a new stock, new mag release, new trigger, new sights, new...

I get that it stock form the gun is little underwhelming, however its for a reason... simple plain 10/22 rifles are regularly sold on sales with a sub-$200 price tag. Think about how inexpensive that is in today's economy...

Not everyone has an issue with the standard trigger, mag release or sights, and these inexpensive parts keep the price point down. If they only sold their guns with a BX trigger the price point would probably increase by $50. While that may not sound like a ton, that's about 25% of the current cost.

The gun is basic for a reason, and works fine in that configuration. When peoples wants or needs are greater, there are plenty of options to upgrade.

This is like saying "Ford should stop all other F-150 model options and only make Raptors" but... then 'John's Landscaping' wouldn't be able to buy the F-150, as it wouldn't be affordable for his need/use.

If you want a 10/22 that you shouldn't need to tinker with, they offer one... but you gotta pay for it.

I'm building a 10/22 takedown right now from a Brownells receiver.

Ruger 10/22. Buy one and immediately change all the parts. I have done that on several.

If your going to buy a bare receiver why would you opt for the vee block instead of a threaded barrel?
Why build on an inferior product?
