Great time, guys...!

MrLoneWolf, ANDREWMENDEZ, Thanks for organizing this event. Retired, thanks too for your efforts. Whoever brought the buggy, bikes, and more...Great Idea!

...an aside...

did anybody get pics of that buggy returning from 'way downrange' with all those people hanging off it...? that was awesome! new twist on the old 'how many can you cram in a phone-booth' game

I had to leave early, so not spending ALL day in the heat...gotta say, it wasnt that bad. I did hear that zombies are everywhere in the Fall...say about 70-ish degrees is super zombie-weather.

Richard (dont know your handle)...it was great meeting you, thanks for sharing your shade.

Penny'sDad...always good seeing you too. Thanks for letting me tail you up to 'the spot.

In sum, we HAVE to do this again in the Fall. I say its not too early to start looking at dates...I'm happy to pitch in and help organize the next one.

Oh yeah...4 wheel drive rocks!...and so to did that AMG... I didnt see it come in, but I did see it leave....

thanks again for the great day, friends.

HAHAHHA, OMG I just realized I took pictures of the safety meeting only :0 NICE!
Hahaha, Ya I had better things to do then just take pictures and I am admittedly a bad picture taker, Oh Well! But others took pictures maybe they are more exciting or just come out next time and see it live
Oh, I do know there is a bump fire video out there somewhere and the guy next to our tent was taking pictures as well, lets see what what they post.

It was awesome to see everyone and meet new Calgunners and shoot umm guns.

Enjoy!

Got to meet some new people and got in some good shooting and got a couple of good shooting tips from geeknow (thank you sir). And thanks to those who organized this fun event, Redhemi

Great shoot, met a bunch of great people.
Anyone ge a pic of Redhemi running up the hill with his truck? That would have made a great new dodge commercial.
Thanks to Andrew for the shirts!
Thanks to all who organized the event! Already looking forward to the next one, in cooler weather that is!

Andrew, be honest, we know you sleep in a crib with the wooden slats and a mobile of zombies above your head.

Well, I just got back home about an hour ago and emptied my truck of everything but the firewood. Too tired; it will have to wait until tomorrow.

I'd like to thank mrlonewolf for suggesting and organizing this event, Andrew for the shirts and especially calibanman for allowing me to share his toy hauler; thank you sir!

I enjoyed meeting all the Calgunners and their friends and had a great time! I'm glad we had the 2 safety meetings and everyone had a chance to know that we were there to have fun, but also be aware of how important the safety factor was. Dave, thanks for thinking about designating a couple of guys to handle things in case we had an emergency. Thankfully we did not, even tho it looked like we might have to call 911 for the member who was in charge of calling 911. Glad you began feeling better.

I hope the next one is in cooler weather because the heat really exhausted me. I heard some of you say how exhausted you were from the heat. Multiply that by 5 and you'll get an idea what I felt like. It sucks getting older. I ended up leaving about 10-13 pins because I just couldn't go out there and get them. Hope you guys had fun shooting them.

BTW, I'd appreciate it if anyone that was near my shooting table check their 50 cal. ammo cans. I seem to be missing one. It had almost 1000 rounds of 7.62x39. IIRC, there was a paper towel in the can as I had something on top of the ammo earlier. Calibanman, I don't know if I left it in your truck by mistake. I, of course, am not accusing anyone, I know it was my mistake and I'll blame it on the heat and age.

Great time out there, but the heat really put the zap on us!
Ed and I planned on staying over but we split about 9pm after grilling up some dinner.
Will have to do it again, but not in July!

A few people who ordered shirts, that did not show, if you could please contact me via PM please. You know who you are! I can ship, or meet you somewhere.

Those that did purchase a tshirt and pick it up from me, please let me know how you like them. Please let me know if there is anything that you did not like about the shirt, wrong size, lame design, funny looking seller...etc. I think they came out pretty damn good if I must say so myself!
The iTraders will go out this evening, when I confirm the list of everyone who picked them up, and if you could return the favor, I would appreciate it!

I do have extra shirts available for a discounted price. Let me know if your interested. I believe they are just L and XL

Too much work to do to cleaning up and unpacking my rig to post pics today. I have A LOT ( and none the safety meeting) that I will post tomorrow. Thank you gentlemen for making the event one of the better ones I've been too in a long time (despite the heat). Looking forward to the next one!

I had a great time. Camped out under the bright milky way but only after we went up on the line at night and bump fired the heck out of my AK. Loved watching that thing blow flames at night. Besides the 115 degree weather, it was an awsome shoot! I want to thank everyone who made it out and Andrew, the old man (Retired) handled the heat and camped out all night long. Where were YOU at buddy?

Default HOLY S** it was hot

HOT, HOT, shmot....didn't we say bring water this event was epic - I had an amazing time. the peak heat of course was that 1-3 time but many humans survived, zombies all died. It was a very safe and fun event.

At the peak I would have to say about 110-120 people were shooting. I just got home and finished unloading & shower thank you again to lonewolf for organizing this event - I loved seeing your CG flag lead the early bird 9:15 run from DT

Side Notes:
- to those that missed it & could have come...na na na nana
- to those that missed it & where to far or other excuses question your pasion for shooting and our calguns community - end sarcasm here
- Howie44 - you are the MAN, thank you so much for everything, i'm really glad I had met you @ burro - Mel your a trooper, thank you too of course & i'm working on a female shooter to come for next time, as you saw @ Bobs Big Boy lunch HA HA HA!
- Exposed we had comedy, carrying all that damn ammo and gear up that hill while busting our guts in laughter....memories - by the way I think WE ALL were blasting flames @ night. my buckshot then slug repeat run was FUN
- Mtbryder - you sir are a charachter great times, i'm glad you enjoyed the Howa 308, thanks for dialing it so well. Everytime I felt like shooting it I was nailing sh*t from medium to that longer range gongs
- Pete & T - Clibanman & 1377 thanks for those awsome buggy rides. especially letting me have a go after I used it to drop off my gear. that think halls a** I was going over this hilly part on one of those trails and then OMG huge dip and another hill, f*ck i think i'm airborn, land and get dirt flying every place. hat goes flying with my ear pro. i turn back and there the hat siting on the storage shelf and the ear pro I went back and picked up. that thing was amazing thank you so much - not to mention leting me shoot all your toys, hooking up the movie time (what ever happened to the person with the projector) hauling all the trash out, and being good people. pete, T thank you
- Retired - Congrats for nailing that gas can nice shot with an SKS i think it was, you had so many toys (yes he is ex-LEO, for all the keyboard jockeys that never make it to these type of amazing CALGUN EVENTs) especially for taking the responsibility of the line rules, hope your back feels better
- 69mach1 (Tom) thank you so much for being my Saiga Dr. It was really pissing me off. I guess I got to do that FCG conversion. your saiga 308 carbine made me really jealous. I plan on making mine into that Saiganov we were discussing - send you pics as soon as I'm done (no more $ 4 ammo until project saiganov is made)
- to the gentleman who got stuck on that rock, we'll blame the awsome shooting conversation you must have been having with your son, BUT It was seriously very difficult to navigate that section at night. it was nice to see how our community helps each other even through the jokes while Craig & John took charge and hendled it like profesionals. sorry about the marine vs army rubs i think Jons comment of dig a hole fill it up was humor Jon & Craig thank you for doing what you do, glad to have met you guys. Craig yur toys R sweet mmmmmm 25 times zoom USoptics, thanks for the shots
- I hope for those that camped out and joined the 6:30 am shooters -howie44 & lonewolf etc... I hope you enjoyed the rich protien breakfast of chicken kabobs! they were a bit hot off the grill. Thank you to that gentleman who let me use his gril and gave me a ride down with the last of the trash - red pick up with younger shooter in black zombie Tshirt
- speaking of T's..Andrew mine rocked!! i found out later who some of those people were when the herd thinned out. we'll blame the heat and that long freaking firing line you were walking down. shirt fit great, artwork was cool, thanks

I will post pics later and block out faces of those who wish not to be shown on the internet

God Bless USA

Hey Thanks for bringing and handing out Ammo to everyone on the Line that was a great Gesture!

The quad and bike was mine although "Turboelky" and "mydogsmonkey" rode them the most

2.5k rounds of ammo $500
Diesel fuel and gas $150
Food water ice $150
Shooting supplies $50
Watching The Hurt Locker under the night sky while hearing melody of multiple AK47's being bumpfired in unison from the firing line... PRICELESS!

Thank you every one involved for making this a very memorable weekend for me, I got to shoot with a bunch of strangers that I met over the internet and made a few friends along the way.

Rob thanks for letting me squeeze off a few 50 cal's, I can't feel my right shoulder, my lawyers will be in contact with you.

Santa9Monica: That chicken kabob was amazing, to the dismay of my daughter, I'd double tap Bambi between the eyes right now for some more.

Howie44: It was a pleasure to meet you and your wife, So sorry you were stuck behind me on the dirt road on the way out, I once broke my water holding tank brackets buy going to fast on a rocky road. Had to leave it roadside. Damned trailers are only held together with spit and glue nowadays.

Croyguy: Thank you and John so much for helping us load, unload, load unload and load again all of our crap. You're wife's valiant effort to bake 8 dozen cookies for us will not go to waste, I tried to feed them to the squirrels but Pete said that was f'ed up and he took them home. Oh ya also tell John that Army beat him hands down digging that big ***** rock out from under the stuck mini van. That aint right.

Retired: If I snored as loudly as you my wife would make me dig my own hole just b4 she capped me.

My co-worker and I were going to stay the night, but after that 110 degree heat we were in no shape to pitch our tents so we decided to just stay for dinner unfortunately when I was loading my truck I sliced my palm open with a piece of jagged steel from my target frame. After I bandaged myself up, I guess that first aid/cpr class came in handy, we took off and headed back to civilization and 3 stitches later and a tetanus shot I'm good to go. Can't wait 'til the next one.

Oh, and by the way, thanks to everybody involved in putting this meet together.

What a great weekend !!!!!!!

As anticipated if was hot. !!!!!!!!

Nope, I'm not talking about our California summer temp., I'm talking about our great community.

We went from warm welcomes and introductions to the MEGA HOT law abiding citizen enjoying our hobby spirit in no time.

It was good to see familiar faces again, a real pleasure meeting members for the first time.

It was great to see so many friendly people having a good time.

Wow, I don't know how to start but, here we go.

Thanks to all the members, C3 leaders and CGN moderators for your participation in this event despite the distance and weather conditions.

Thanks to Ammo Bros and their kind donation to the CGN family, that means free ammo for all the fellow member attendees (Thanks again Gino).

Thanks to calibanman and Howie44 for bringing your RVs and equipment.

Thanks to the members who donate and share, water, ice, drinks, food, ammo, targets, etc.

In essence, Thank you all and God Bless.

I've got a few vids from my flip and a couple pics, but unfortunately, they're from this morning and none of the other members are in them. I'll post them sometime Monday in Penny's Dad's thread (I saw myself in quite a few of those safety meeting pics ).

My buddy Richard and I were on our way back in at about 11 this morning, when the last 5 or 5 cars were on their way out. Wish we would have caught y'all a few minutes prior, as we were loaded down with a ton of cold water, ice and fruit I was hoping to get off my hands. We ended up staying until 1:45 when we saw a couple cars come in and go past us.

I mentioned it in a post last night from my cell phone, but both of us stayed up late cleaning guns and packing the car down, and got not a wink of sleep. Big mistake. By the time I got up there, I was personally on about 28 hours straight being awake.

We arrived at around 9:20 as the big group was leaving, and pulled out last, but caught the light right before 15-N. When I got on the freeway, my first question was, "What happened to driving the speed limit?". My buddy says, "That was only to DT, they wanna get there now, they can smell it!"

We finally caught the group right around the 8 mile marker on Ft. Irwin, just in time for the turn off into the desert. When we got to the spot, I was pretty beat, but riding an adrenaline rush was soon sapped by the absolutely OPPRESSIVE HEAT!!!

I shot a few rounds out of my guns, but after a while it became a chore. By the time Pyrodyne offered us his Taurus for a few rounds, I was on my last legs. I took one shot and heard the horn for cease fire...which happened to me literally 4 or 5 times during the course of the day and became a running joke ("Oh you need to change your targets? Hold on, here, Carlos...pick up a gun, any gun!").

Still, we had every intention of spending the night, and were packed as such. Once the EZ up, guns and ammo were out of the truck, we rested for a bit and it wasn't long before Rich suggested we go catch a quick nap at Motel 6 and come back for some night shooting.

I sat on the idea for a couple hours, mainly because I was having trouble getting around...even after a quick 20 winks in the truck. By the time we "packed" the truck (read: tossed everything in there so it would fit and the doors would close), we knew we wouldn't be back until morning.

It was my first time shooting outdoors, much less BLM in 115 degree heat...I learned a lot about how it's supposed to be done while there talking to the folks around us. CSACANNONEER's* group, especially Pyrodyne was great company to shoot with and answered a lot of my friend's noobish questions. The same group let my buddy shoot one of their Nagants (I was in the truck resting my eyes) and he was still showing off the bruise until he went home a few hours ago.

Another gentleman, Sean was his name I think...was a pleasure to meet as well, we attempted to drink a beer with him before leaving, but I never got mine open and Rich spit his right back out I think due to stomach cramps.

We left a chair and a target to mark our location on the line for Sunday, but I'm sure folks probably thought we wouldn't be back by then. Speaking of which, I only got to make it about 2/3 of the way up the line, but I asked a couple people (I went up to Retired right after the safety meeting, and also asked Andrew when he brought my shirts) if they knew mtbryder because I had brought up a few boxes of ammo for him, and came up empty.

Where ever you are brother, I hope you came across enough .308 to enjoy yourself. I don't own anything of the caliber, no plans at the moment, so I'll tell you what...PM me and tell me how you want to get them (you can pick them up or pay for shipping), and I'll toss 'em to you on the arm.

It was my first time shooting outdoors, and my friend doesn't have much experience with guns either. We both had a great time, it was great for me to tell him all about the good group of folks we were sure to meet and have it come to fruition for him. I learned a lot about how to do BLM properly while out there with the group, and I do appreciate that. Next time we will pack a little lighter and get sufficient rest, ready to camp out for some night shooting.

Thanks again to all who made the trip a great experience for everyone, to the rangemasters for keeping us safe out there, to the folks who shared their guns with other shooters (I never recalled that many kids who were able to play nice in kindergarten, you all must have been head of your class!) and to the leaders for putting this together for us.

CALGUNS FREAKIN' ROCKS!!!

Free ammo? I guess it never made it all the way to the end of the line I was on. Oh well. I spent most of Sunday, hiding at home, napping and trying to recoup from Saturday. It was great to meet many of you and see old friends as well.

Jackson88,
You really need to get shopping for two AK kits! Once she builds her own gun, she'll be completely hooked! BTW, it was nice to meet both of you!

You mean your teeth feel OK?

Thank you all who organized this.
It was really awesome (except for the heat).

When packing up, I ended up spending about 20 minutes in the truck with the A/C running full blast, for every 5 minutes outside cleaning up.

One of my friends took all our pictures, hopefully I'll get them from him soon. I know Santa9monica really wants to see them. Heck, I want to see them. Should be some great action shots. Not sure if he got a lot of pictures of the line though.
