Around 2011 I dros'd a shotgun at the Rancho Cucamonga Bass Pro. It hadn't even cleared custom's and I believe was still at sea en route from Japan. It arrived on day 10 following the DROS and I picked it up on the morning of day 11. Perhaps some stings were pulled in regard to Bass Pro's regular policy.

DOJ has a right to inspect any firearm that goes through DROS. If they ask for it and we can't present it, it's an obvious issue. This is also why FFL's don't allow the transferee to lock the case.

That's a great discount. I believe even for Big 5 that's likely the complete margin on the firearm in most cases from what I've seen of their pricing.
