Sweet, good luck and have fun! Be sure to tell them that you're a first timer during the morning's shooters meeting. X3 can be a difficult match, even for experienced shooters, so you'll have quite the learning curve. Just pay attention to the safety rules and you'll do fine.

Hey Will.

PM me if you would like to tag along with my squad.

I enjoy showing new guys around.

Besides, newbies work harder at reseting stages!

Hey Guys,

It's August and boy is it making up for the heat we haven't had for the last couple of years. The good news is that it is supposed to cool down a few degrees and stay in the high 80's according to my little smart phone.

You still need to bring plenty of water and drinks of some kind, or you will feel the heat.

Please arive early to ensure that you get to shoot with your buddies, I am a real stickler about keeping the squads small.

A lot of chatter about new shooters and first timers to the sport of 3 Gun, If you are a first timer or new to the sport please feel free to introduce yourself to me and the gang, I think you will find that everyone is pretty open, freindly and willing to help a beginner.

I have a few new props and things for you this month (always trying to challange you guys).

you will need the usual compliment of slugs, bird, buck along with your pistol and rifle ammo.

Please check out the stages below and on our web site.www.x3multigun.com

For you first timers please leave your steel core and steel jacketed ammo at home it is not allowed on the range period!

The fire danger is real, just ask me about it.

I usually post the scores on the web site on Monday or Tuesday or as soon as I can get them done. If you don't see them right away just give me a day or two and I will get them up.

On another note, I am always looking for help in setting up on Saturday. This weekend we will be starting at 6:30 in the am to beat some of the heat. If you are free and would like to help come on out.

Thanks for looking.

About a dozen newbies made it out.

This was a great match to introduce some new shooters. Nothing too complex, yet still fun. I still managed to jack up a couple of stages.

No one took me up on the offer, but I'm sure they had a good time as the most of the "regulars" were out. We had a good squad anyhow.

The incline was funny.

I was trying to figure out what stance would work out best. Then when it came time to shoot, I forgot what to do and just "winged" it. It turned out alright.

Expect a bit more shotgun next week as a warm up for the shotgun match in Bakersfield at the end of the month (for those going). There will be some challenging slug and buckshot shots. There will be one stage that will use the international buckshot targets. So by the end of the match you'll have a better idea or at least know you have no idea where you gun patterns with buck. Expect extended range buckshot shots.

We hope to have diagrams up soon.

On the stage 4 description is reads , no part of your body may be touching the ground.
What will we be standing on?

That was last months...see the green thing on the pic? It was sort of a rooftop shaped prop you had to shoot over.

Edit: it was roughly 6 feet tall, had to climb up it.

I'm hoping to come out this week, one concern. The shotgun I'm planning on running is a cylinder bore. Without a choke will it be possible for me to make some of the longer shots? Can I buy some heavier Turkey loads to compensate? I'm doing this for fun but I still want to be competitive, thanks!

Yes, a cylinder choke will work but bring some #4s for the longer 15yd steel shots.

Hello again,

9/14/12 better late than never,

I have just finished the final touches on the stages for this weekend. I want to thank Ray and Phong for contributing to the process. The stages are a little bit involved (go figure) but thats the way we like it uh-huh.

Ray has come up with some international Buck Shot targets for this weeks match that will require 9 PELLET OO BUCK ONLY! make sure you bring at least 15 rounds. You will also need at least 10 slugs, along with the normal rifle, pistol and birdshot.

The weather is going to be more than warm, it is going to be Hot! so make sure you bring plenty of water, fluids, drinks etc...

With the weather being so hot it is even more imperative that you make sure that you know what you are shooting in the way of ammunition, no steel core, steel jacket or depleted uranium rod projectiles.

The stages are listed below and will be on the web site by this evening.

x3multigun.com

Please arrive early on Sunday, get squadded up and ready to go so we can get started early and hopefully beat some of the heat.

.

Help is always appreciated they usually start at 630 a.m. and will continue through most of the day. So if you want to help go all the way to the back ranges you see them working. Ask for Sammy.
