So I ended up going with the G21. Thank you to all of you guys for your opinion and advice. Before going to the range to qualify I talked to many of the officers in the department and asked what they carried. I came to the conclusion that for the most part many of them carried the G21 and in a dire emergency where we needed to exchange mags I didn't want to be odd duck out.
I've decided to go with 3 mags on my belt and 3 more in my war bag. Plus my G30 on my ankle with 11 rounds. So far so good, I have fallen in love with the stippling on the gen4 version. Thank you again to everyone and their input. |

GLOCK 21, I carried it for 4 years, loved it, I also have size medium hands so it seemed big at first but I got used to it. 13+1 capacity is the best option for .45 ACP. My current duty weapon is a .45ACP with 8+1 capacity. Man do I miss my G21 as a duty weapon. I actually bought myself a G21SF for personal carry and home defense. I have also carried a Beretta Vertec .40, I own a Walther PK380 and a S&W CS45 but, when the world goes to hell i'll be carrying my G21. Just my opinion, G17s are nice and essentialy the same gun as the 21, same trigger and general size just not as wide.

Shoot your qual course with both, choose the one that you're best with. I like both calibers but shoot .45 best. I would go with a good .45 if I didn't have to carry .40.
Eta: just saw you already chose. Great selection, carry out your duties in good health! |
