Luger - Possibly American Eagle
Just picked this little Luger up in trade for a 1990's stainless Mini-14. Seemed like a pretty good deal at the time I'll be honest. I don't know much about them other than I've always wanted one for some reason.
It appears to be an American Eagle imported by Alexander arms. I have no idea on date of manufacture but I'm told its never been fired. Not sure how to tell but might just end up being a safe queen for the time being. Magazine has no serial number on it. I hear they generally do. Didn't come with a box or manual, but if anyone knows where a molded case can be found, I'd appreciate a link. Anyone know where I can find some instructions on taking it down to clean it? Probably never been done. Enjoy!

It appears to be one of the ones made by Mauser in the late 70s or early 80s. They made two styles, P-08 and Swiss. Both came with four or six inch barrels. They were 9mm or .30Luger.
Yours is the Swiss style, the main difference is the straight front of the grip. Mauser did not have the right to use the name Luger (the name had been sold to Stoger some years earlier) so they called them Parabellums. They are very nice guns and sell in the $900 to $1200 range. I hope this information helps. |

Thank you for the additional information. Looks like the trade I made for it was a good one. Not sure if I'll shoot it now or not.

Its unfired. New. It may not be a collectible now. Might be in 50 years. Who knows, right?
Nice looking gun. I'm diggin' the longer barrel.

Here's mine:
Very accurate but the springs in it have been crap. The extractor spring in particular was very weak. Replaced it with one from the hardware store which worked for awhile but it too has taken a set and allows the extractor so slip over a fired round. I will have to get an actual quality extractor spring for it. I really like shooting it! |
