Question NorCal East SF Bay - any FFLs open late during weekdays (e.g., until 9pm)?

FFL folks,

Are there any Mom-and-Pop or TableTop FFLs that open late during weekday evenings (e.g. Mon to Thurs) in the Fremont, Livermore, Dublin areas, who are willing to do PPTs?

I'm potentially interested in PPTing a pistol from someone in East Bay, but cannot get up to to a regular Gunstore FFL during business hours (e.g., up to 7pm) from South Bay due to awful rush hour traffic.

Thanks!
wellfedirishman

Thanks Folks for your help. Unfortunately the only FFL open late (that I can find) in the Castro Valley, Livermore, Dublin area is Big5 and they won't DROS pistols or MSRs.

Report them to CalDOJ. DOJ takes that stuff seriously, actually.

It's not fair to the mom-and-pop FFLs that play by the rules that a huge corporation gets to play by its own rules.

Big 5 doesn't sell pistols so they are in compliance.

Check with GFOS in Dublin right at the 680/580 interchange.

True, but it really isn't relevant anymore since the handgun restriction was based on the HSC and if they only sold long guns, then they would not need to be a HSC instructor. Now all firearms apply under the FSC, so they should also be required to do PPTs for handguns, but that would require a change to the law.

No exception for not doing MSRs though. Any featureless MSR is treated the same way under the law as any bolt action long gun.

Curiosity here but since the law reads that the FFL preforming the PPT must treat the PPT as any other dealer sale, could for instance an FFL say I dont sell this particular type of firearm therefore I cant do the safety demo for it and thus I am rejecting your PPT. Not that we would but just for arguments sake here.

You know, I'm entirely wrong.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a dealer who does not sell, transfer, or keep an inventory of handguns is not required to process private party transfers of handguns.

For some reason, I thought the rule was the opposite. Mea culpa
