Nikon M-223 with Larue LT-158 or LT-104?
I bought a brand new Nikon M-223 with BDC reticle.
Deciding on a mount. Larue LT-158 with 10 MOA built in, or Larue LT-104? I don't shoot past 600 yards. So one side of the camp says an LT-104 with 0 built in adjustment will work just fine as there is enough adjustments in the scope to allow to shoot out to 600. The other side of the camp says the M-223 BDC won't range properly without the 20MOA mount and the holdover on the BDC notches will be off. Any suggestions? the effective range is 800m for a 5.56\.223 and most people wont shoot past 200. a 20moa base shouldnt matter at all since if you zero in the scope at 100 or 200 per directions the bdc should take care of the rest. I just got the LT-104 and I love it. Don't get a LaRue Quick detatch if scratches bother you on your 1913 rail. I have a trijicon accupoint 1-4x24 30mm in my mount.

Thanks for the response.
I was thinking it would be a serious design flaw if Nikon required a 20moa mount for a 5.56 round. It just doesn't make sense the things people are saying about how it was designed that way. I think the best choice is the LT-104 as well.. my guess is the BDC notches will work just fine for holdover with a 0 MOA mount. |

Dave, Did you check out Nikon's M-223 AR Mount ? I have them on all my AR's and they work great. Yes, they have 20 MOA built into them as well. Here's a pic of one set-up I have that shows a Smith & Wesson MP15-22 with the Nikon M-223 1-4 and M-223 AR Mount. Drop me a note if you have any questions.
