Default Big 5 Alhambra BS!!!

So I was there Thursday and manager told me they would be getting a shipment Friday and it would be on sale Saturday but to get there 9am since a few people were asking for .223 and there would be a limit of 5 boxes.

I showed up with my wife and they sold a guy ahead of us 20 boxes which left only 5 boxes for me and my wife to buy.

They gave me the BS that the guy had a Raincheck which wasnt even discussed. Also told me the guy had bought 7K worth of guns there.

I call BS cause no way Big 5 can sell 7K of guns that they usually have!

Really pissed me off and got me all worked up since I went to Ontario to only see long lines, Big 5 in San Dimas and they were out.

After day at the range I went by the Big 5 in Montery Park and the manager there said a raincheck would not gaurentee 20 boxes no matter what.

I may have to complain to the regional manager... I mean I was there with my wife to buy 5 boxes each following the rules... This guy buys 400 rounds no problem with all the issues going around?

Any way Burro Canyon had .223s at $15 a box...

20 box buyer was probably a "friend" of manager. Sucks, but reality is it's who you know that separates the Haves from the Have Nots. Alhambra resident here, so It sucks this preferential treatment happens where I shop.

I think it all depends on the manager. I have had the best luck at Monterey Park

I never like going to the Alhambra Big5. I hit up the El Monte one, service is always great there.

I was just at the Monterrey Park one last Sunday and got some shotgun ammo and they had .223s.

I should have just got all my stuff from there but I wanted to shop around..

No more shopping around for me for sure... And it will be the last time I shop at the Alhambra shop for sure...

I picked up 5 boxes of .223 at Cerritos and 2 bricks of .22 at Downey big5 so I should be ok for a bit. I talked to manager at El Monte store at he says they are getting a shipment of 223 and .22 Thursday. So if anyone interested should show up when they open at 10.

^^^ thanks for the heads-up. what happened at the alhambra store wasn't cool.

i don't usually buy my ammo from Big 5, but occasionally stop in at the el monte store because it is a few minutes from my job; i can run in on my lunch break. the staff have always been cordial to me and provided good service.

I have been buying from Alhambra since I was old enough to buy guns. Bought one of my first Mossbergs there. Spent quite a few bucks on guns there, and more money on just sporting gear in general.

Always had good service and good luck there. Never had a problem with the manager, well... might not be the same guy you dealt with.

Didn't even know Monterey Park had one until recently... but was treated very rudely there when I went with a few friends to look at shotguns.
