Trap, I wish I could bring you with, but I'm not driving. I'll hopefully see you there, though.

The show is full of vendors... no empty tables like the August show. Plenty of deals out there

Anyone wanna say Hi? I'll be wearing a USS Enterprise CVN-65 ball cap.

Great gun show, and there was still ammo left!
If you go there Sunday, arrive when it opens, as half the venders close up around noon.

Good show boys -

A bit crowded today -

There's a Vietnam war trophy Chinese SKS - He's asking 2K but open to offer - Big negative is it's in a Russian stock -

Lots of Pythons -

Saw an interesting Uruguayan contract Mauser - French armory St. Denis in 6.5x53.5R - All matching with sidemount cleaning rod -

Anyone seen these?

He is asking 3.8 for it - There are 2 there but one is not for sale - That one is complete with the correct bi-pod -

Saigon, are you speaking of a Dovitis Mauser ? I assume so.

Last one I saw was one a friend of mine was selling for an old man.

$350 almost brand new and he couldn't get rid of it. Because there is no ammo and you have to make your own, they just are not on anyone's lists.

Saigon, why is the Russian stock on the sks a negative? Could it have been an early sino-soviet ?

It's a Russian stock with X'ed and with new numbers - It's too bad because the rifle is all numbers matching -

You have your hands full with my other mission, sir.

Ref - the T-Gewehr - I would buy it for my office, and you know how many movies it went out on - zero, then my wife would use it on me - lol.

I think they pack that thing around for an attention getter, I have seen that one or one just like very time I've gone to the Reno show for the past 15 years or so. I've never seen a price on one nor a make offer sign.

Got to meetup with some fellow Calgunners, also got reality checks on where the market has gone regarding the firearms I have or would like to obtain. Also ran across a vendor selling Dr. Lenoardo Antaris' Book about Astras which he put out before he did the Star Fireams research book. Both in indentical format $199 I would surmise the Star book is right up there as well.
Got my 6.5 Arisaka ammo I was looking for, found it online when I got home for $6 a box more plus shipping! Shoulda bought another box or two!

Just got home. Mission accomplished - got rid of a very rough Winchester '92 carbine by trading it plus some cash for a very nice Winchester '92 rifle.

Also, got to meet Trap, Flyin' Brian (who did me and Trap a solid while we were there ) as well as a few other CG members. Great folks, all. Lou - I wish I know you were going to be there and had your contact info, it would have been nice to meet up again.

Good to finally meet you too!
Don't show him stuff that isn't for sale, he's a real PITA when he wants it. I leave the Para SKS out just to get him worked up.
We'll have to do some pre-planning for the Spring show, "if" I can make it. FlyinBrian got us a smokin deal on a room that was half the price, and much nicer than the ones at the Grand, thanks again Brian!
I found Justin a deal on a Remington 12 pump .22 as the show was closing Sat, he grabbed it this morning. I only spent $28 on a holster, scope rings, and some screws for GMG's '73 Winchester I'm overhauling. Probably the cheapest trip to the show I've ever had.

I saw a decent Win 97 take down model on the way out I would have liked you to look at, it was on table at the entrance to the small room. The guy had 2-3 on the left front corner of his table, this one had history written on a 3x5 card out of WA state, dealer was from OR. It was at $350 and was better than anything I've seen at Cabela's and at a lesser price.
I picked up a few business cards and was surprised to see how many vendor were from OR, WA, ID etc.
Seemed like the crow was thinning out about 3PM when I left.

I saw many rifles I could not afford, boy were there a lot of Winchesters.

My budget isn't as big as I would like, however I did pick up my first blackpowder, a CVA Pennsylvania .50cal rifle. It is used and was manufactured in1983, the stock looks great, just need to clean it up a bit.
The problem I now have is that I have no experience in blackpowder muzzleloaders.
Before I head home I wanted to pick up some powder, caps, etc from Scheels but the problem is I do not know what size caps to get and am not sure about the powder.
The CVA website has no information on this rifle. Perhaps they discontinued it?

Where can I go to get information on a 1983 CVA .50cal Pennsylvania long rifle?

I'm glad it worked out for you guys... I made sure I hooked you up at a different hotel than the one I was staying at. There's no reason I should have to wait in a longer line at the waffle maker in the morning!!

In my humble opinion, I would have to say there were a lot of people at the show but not much cash exchanging hands. It seemed pretty crowded at times, but yeah not much going on in the way of gun sales. Plenty of people were wheeling by with ammo stacked up on the Mi-Wall hand trucks. I'm thinking ammo must be the business to be in.

The only thing I picked up was a 3 screw Blackhawk in 30 Carbine. I must have had 10 people tell me "make sure you wear your ear protection" so I can't wait to see how loud it is!!

That's why I go - I'm looking for Winchesters, and I like to see them and handle them before I buy. They might not be giving them away but there are a lot to choose from, and being able to see, taste, and touch has value and I don't mind paying a bit more to have that convenience and peace of mind.

Also, I agree with you re: rifles I can't afford.

My budget is too tight to be to be fooling with Winchester lever actions straight up. That's why I picked a "sacrificial lamb" out of the safe to trade/barter/sell. I really can't swing the full monte on a nice lever gun unless I generate a bit of cash to go along with what I have in my pocket.

I'm already giving the stink-eye to several rifles in the safe, looking for the next victim to give up. I now need a 1892 carbine (or two ).

Haha that is awesome - I almost bought one, on two different occassions, a couple years ago. I heard they are a riot to shoot!!!

I'll be up there but not firm on when or where I am staying.

Looking for some m1 carbines and maybe a 1911a1 if I can find any deals.

I think I will make a day trip this time. Need to meet with timber outdoors and I believe TRAP55 is going with me if he can.
