Default Buyer didn't provide itrader rating

I sold a lower, in excellent condition, to a buyer and provided positive itrader feedback to him. However, he still hasn't provided itrader feedback for me even after multiple PMs sent to him to provide itrader feedback with no response. Anything i can do here? I feel like I should retract my itrader feedback for him because fair is fair and should be reciprocated. Thoughts?

Feedback should be given without expecting feedback in return. If your end of the deal was handled well, positive iTrader should be warranted.

Ya, the recognition is nice. It's happened to me as well.

Surprisingly, many of our members just don't know how to give an itrader rating. I've had to talk a few thru the process and even then, it was like pulling teeth. Now I ask in advance if they participate in the itrader system.

These new members don't realize how important a good itrader rating is for future trust and confidence.

Lately since this Gun Frenzy and all our new members, I've had a lot of FLAKEs and DEADBEAT-wanna-be-buyers who make offers and vanish.

I like to get positive itrader feedback. But I don't take it personally, if the other party can't or won't leave feedback. It's not like they gave you a negative rating.

I have done some 6-8 deals here, and I have a total of 2 ratings.

Kind of gave up on it.

Frankly, I am not even sure how to initiate the rating request.

I have gotten prompts from the page after deals a couple times and I reply to those but otherwise I wouldn't even know how to make a rating take place.

Just so you know. The other party may be like me and not know how to use the iTrader system.

Another possible explanation is that the person doesn't want an easily accessible trail of what they have been buying and selling, and who they have been doing deals with.

This is (IMHO) a huge flaw in the iTrader system, and is why I have no ratings even though I've bought items from CGN members. I don't even post "I'll take it" in the for sale thread, I just contact the seller via PM and we do the deal that way. If the seller insists that we have to do the iTrader thing, I'll pass on the deal, although this hasn't happened yet.

Yeah usually I always return a feedback upon receiving one. I just ask once, then leave it alone. No reason to chase someone down just for an itrader.

Yeah, I always leave feedback, but I've done probably 8 deals here on the board and you can see my feedback. *shrug* Oh well, the point was the deal, not the rating, right?

If they are using their phone as a way to access the site, iTrader is kinda confusing. I am new to trading and selling here, but on the single feedback I have left stopped trying on my phone until I could log in on a pc. I'd send them a message to kindly add feedback though.

smak, most of us have had it happen and agree it sucks.
I had a few begging me for ammo, then didn't give return iTrader ratings, even though I PM'd them about it too.
It's cool, I remember who they are, the next time I release some of my ammo on the marketplace, they will get none at any price.

Just copy the marketplace page (the for sale thread) on a right click.

Find the buyer or sellers post or any post they made.

Now just click on the itrader number on the upper right, their join date and number of posts.

A new page opens. Follow the simple instructions. Paste in the deal page.
Write something nice.
Click submit.
Done.

Bingo!

That's the main issue. iTrader is terribly not user friendly.

No wonder people don't always leave feedback if you got to jump through so many hoops.

The powers that be need to fix and upgrade iTrader or find a new rating system software that can be integrated into the forum and is actually user friendly and easy for anyone to use.

Me personally speaking cant figure out how to send a positive or negetive I trader report.
I'm older and was never trained on computers.
I have been figuring it out as I go so I try but have never gotten past a certain point when they want the URL.
1st I dont know what a URL is
2nd I dont know where the URL is located.
3rd no one has been able to tell me how to do it in a manner that someone with little or no training can understand.
Once I figure it out I will be I tradering every thing I buy.

The URL, or "Uniform Resource Locator" is the web address. It's located at the top of the page.

Example: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...9#post10981069

When you're on the ad page, simply copy the URL listed at the top and paste it into the iTrader feedback. It provides a link to the ad.

Hope this helps.

To the OP: Try not to live and die by your iTrader. If you do, you will disappointed more times than not. I've not received a few and forgot to leave a few myself. As other have said, it happens.

Wanting to retract your feedback because the other party didn't reciprocate seems a bit childish IMO. As does this thread. It happens. I'd say I get about 60% of my feedback returned. Life goes on.

I remember the first time I lagged on giving trader feedback on a deal where I was the purchaser. The selling party had a 100% rating with a high number of transactions. The guy absolutely melted down via PM's, it was funny and sad all at the same time to watch a grown man turn into a kicking, screaming 4 year old over some feed back.

Don't worry about it, it happens, if you stay here long enough and continue to make deals on the marketplace it won't matter.

It does but didn't realize it was a normal occurrence because I'm fairly new to this forum and seemed like everyone MUST abide by specific rules to earn a reputation. However, What sets me apart from other types of newbies is that i respect the rules and people in this forum and thought it is emphasized. Now my expectations have been reset and realize that i just have to play the cards I'm dealt here where certain things aren't enforced and just have to s*ck it up and move on. Thanks for everyone's feedback as that's what i really appreciate in this forum!

I leave and expect feedback to be left after every transaction... I always ask before I sell the item for several reasons.
1. I am out of state and it shows that I am a very fair guy who can be trusted!
2. Many other sites do not have a system like this... I can easily provide my Calguns iTrader, Gunbroker feedback, and a few others that I have 20+ transaction on to folks to show that I am acting in good faith and am not scamming anyone.

For those two reason alone I have had folks ship things to me that in any other case would not have. If the buyer/seller does not understand the importance or commit to providing feedback, I typically will not sell or buy from them.

I understand the frustration... There are at least 3 or 4 items I still have not received credit for... I basically gave up on getting a rating from those folks (even though they have a + from me). Since I am well over 20 positive and over 25 sales... I think most folks on here get the picture that I am fair, trusting, and have nothing to worry about when doing business with me!

Anyway, just some thoughts!

Some people are all about their post count. With me, I value the itrader. It establishes the member is a stand up guy/gal and is someone I am more comfortable doing business with.
I will admit I get a little irritated when I don't get feedback, but I know it's not so important to other members.

I made a purchase and was asked to leave a rating...so I did. I had to learn how as I had never done it and it's a bit tricky. I asked him to leave me a rating as well...and he didn't. Oh well, I would leave him a good rating anyway as he threw in 400 rounds of 45acp for a hundred bucks...and it was with all this craziness. I asked him why he wasn't trying to get more for it. He said, "That's just not right." Good guy in my book...even if he didn't leave me any rating.

it's happened to me a few times... I've never asked for a rating though - however, I have contemplated not leaving one until they do (but so far I've always left one)...

I think for a while I'll refrain from leaving one unless the other side does. I'm not going to help build their itrader if they can't take the time to leave one (although I think some people don't know how, seriously).
