I thought I chime in on some fun. Well, here is mine GSG5. Nothing customize, just your basic bolt on parts.

So can somebody tell me if the guns in these pics are leagal in CA with 10 round mags?

I'm still unclear if the colapseable stocks and vertical front grips are legal in CA or not. My Sig 522 of course came with a "folding" stock, so I'm guessing the colapseable is in the same boat (legal)? I don't care so much about using a vertical grip but if i got one of these I would only do it if I can use the colapseable rear stock.

I wanted to get the pistol version but not by having it set to a single shot setup to be CA compliant. So if i can get one of these with a colapseable stock, that's about the next best thing and of course a halo sight. Would be nice if it's legal for the vert front grip too.

These are GSG pics from this thread as a referenace.

Rimfire rifles are not subject to the AW ban, so all those features are legal for them even with a detachable mag.
With pistols, you run into two problems, the AW ban and the roster. To get around the roster, you have to do the single shot thing for DROS but can then revert back to semi auto. However, the AW law for pistols unfortunately does not exclude rimfire, so all rules apply. Basically you have to pin the mag with a bullet button or the like because the magwell is not in the pistol grip. To be on the safer side, you might as well have that done before DROS as well even though technically it wouldn't need to be because it would be a single shot at the time.

So yeah, going the rifle route is WAY easier as it can be fully featured with detachable mag right from the get go.

Here's mine... pretty simple except for $12.00 G3 rear sight and DMS fiber optic front sight (I'm the guy that makes them). 5,000+ rounds through it and still going strong.

It's legal to have a collapsible stock on these? What are the basic laws regarding .22s?

An overall legth of 26" with the stock completely collapsed, no shorter than 16" barrel and no mags over 10 rounds. (unless its a rifle that has preban mags. Which the GSG does not)

Other than that. Go to town. Vertical grips, collapsible stocks, pistol grips. All good to go on rimfire rifles.

Rimfire Pistols are subject to the same laws as centerfire pistols.

Hey, just joined the site. Been looking to buy one of these but wanted to check with the owners how reliable GSG-5s are? How would you compare them in reliability to similar (S&W 15, SIG 522, etc...)
Also, should I wait for the new version of these (due to the lawsuit) or just find the remaining one.
Thanks in advance - any help is appreciated.

Heck of a lot more reliable than my 10/22. I've probably had 5 failure-to-feeds in 1000 rounds or so. And most of those, I suspect, we probably my friends loading the mags all willy-nilly like.

BTW that is a classic army stock, seems pretty durable. Will give better review when I go out and do some desert training next month. Anybody got any experience with the ncstar MP5 red-dot that has the built in claw mounts?

Nothing special here. Trying not to spend too much money on this since I'm building my AR-15.

Why can't you get that shipped? All it says is they cannot ship with 22 round magazine.

California legal GSG 522PK. This has the conversion kit from GSG to make it look like the pre-lawsuit ones, also has an actual HK drum sight.
