Bet you there's still millions sitting in warehouses somewhere. I think once supply catches up we'll start seeing them again. At least I hope so. C&R's seem infinite sometimes, but they run out seemingly overnight.

I'll sell you one of mine. $1000 out the door. It's one of those rare Tula hex models from Stalin's personal stash. I can even make a certificate on photoshop to prove it to you.

I even have this picture of Stalin holding it to prove it all.

I just traded my M38 and the person didn't like the kick, so we nulified the trade. There are a few in the market place section including mine, so it doesn't seem they've dried up completely.

Local big5 is selling 91/30's for $179 plus tax and dros.

Guess I am going to have to wait a while to pick one up.

I have genuine, original, Finn captured PE top-mount snipers for sale if anyone is interested. 1935 to 1937 dates, no scope or mount setup and bolts have been replaced by the Finns with Finn matched straight bolts. Nice condition, easily re-scoped using one of the Ukrainian production PE scope and mount setups from Cole Distributing or the Accumounts setups with PE "look-alike" modern scopes. Price is $1,500 + shipping each - considering that there are only about 200 of these rifles in existance and they have an amazing combat history, that's quite a deal.

LOL, I overpaid for both of my 91/30s when I first got in the game.

I just had to have it then and there, let's just put it that way.

I guess I should have looked at this thread first before I sold 2 "You fix it" Finn mosins on the classifieds for $100 each. Now I know why I had about a dozen PM in 30 minutes.

Also it looks like all the cheap Type 53s are now gone too. The last for $119 was at J&G Sales, but the listing has disappeared, so they're out. The only place that has them now is Cheaper Than Dirt for $174, but they don't ship to 03 FFLs.

The 91/30s that have been being imported have been coming from the Ukraine. IIRC, we haven't gotten anything out of Russia other than the Molot PUs.

Unless you have a flux capacitor and 1.21 giggawatts, they're gone.

Im also looking for one. I know one place they went, im reading online people have been buying them by the crate.

There are some online shops still holding the price at $99 but are out of stock for the moment. Can i buy one and ship here to CA for a sale? Im trying to catch up on education about C&R and shipments, does anyone know?

If you don't have a C&R license it will have to go through an FFL01.

Who are these people who are buying 1940's bolt action rifles by the crate, and what the hell do they plan on doing with them? LOL. I'll never understand this panic mentality.

Sell them for 2x or 3x what they paid. LOL

Face it. Anyone who "panic bought" before, or immediately after, Newtown is coming out smelling like a rose.

Century has now put up their February Specials.

The one at the top is the Type 53:
Quote:
Chinese Type 53 Carbine, Cal. 7.62x54R

Unsorted and greasy. These will be off the top of the pile. They have bolts, but may have cracked stocks and missing parts. AS IS-NO RETURNS!
This reminds me of their "sweeping the floor" sales of the Type 56s.

Everybody's buying them so they can have something to put in the Archangel stock when it ships later this year.

The market is strange and out of control.

Yes i saw an unboxing video of a crate-buy of 91/30s, by a guy who already owned four! He didnt mention why he wanted all these.

I THOUGHT, Ok, so-called conservative-paranoid-lunatics already bought plenty of guns so it must be liberals who are now cleaning the shelves but that has to be wrong, its people who already owned plenty of guns and are going broke now to have more because a ban would mean a lot to them, whereas the liberals want the ban. Crate buyers may be thinking about the future of no guns and possibly high profits. In the right circumstances a Mosin could sell for $1000, or traded for 25oz of silver, who knows?

But dont people think at least SOME of the inventory restrictions must be false to artificially raise the price? www.aimsurplus.com had plenty of Mosins, and starting from (and since) Sandy Hook they have ZERO. Cant be, right? Same with Cabela's.

By the way, Cabela's version was sold very complete and the guns were in beautiful condition. I notice while searching that not all versions are created equal. I judge others by Cabela's---gun, bayonet, TWO sets of pouches, oil can, firing pin gauge tool and all numbers matching. Some 91/30s are sold with gun and bayonet only. Does anyone know who consistently sells 91/30s complete?

ONE WAY TO BUY......
I spent the time to read all of this:
http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/curios-relics.html

Half way down that FAQ page is the link to download the application for the C&R License. I never realized it was easy to apply, 10 minutes for the application and $30 fee for three years. My application is on route and i figured that was a good thing to do while waiting for inventory to arrive. Also, im reading around that some FFLs have gone crazy, charging $100 for a transfer. With the C&R that you send to a dealer of your choice, the purchases comes straight to you and it pays for itself the first time you use it.

The application is in two parts, one copy to BATF and the other to your local Police Chief who has some time to check your record and disapprove you, if necessary. I added a brief and respectful cover letter to my Chief to explain who i was and why i wanted the C&R. It takes BATF about one month to process the application. There are no refunds if you are disapproved and the main reasons given are incomplete applications. Check it several times before submitting.

The C&R is a collector license, there are no rights to be in the business of buying and selling. But you can sell/trade/transfer among other C&R holders without restriction. Read the FAQ.

I know that many of you are pros at this, so im posting for those who dont know while i too am learning.
