Default What C&R long guns do you own?

Just curious to know what fellow Calgunners have out there.

What I have in my collection:

Gewehr 98
Karabiner 98k
M1 Garand
1903A3 Springfield
No.1 Mk.III*
No.4 Mk.2
Krag-Jorgensen M1898
M1917
Swedish M96
Finnish M39
MAS-45
Marlin 39A

I think I need some ideas as to what I should acquire next.

Below is what I have, debating if I want an Arisaka and M1917 to round out the collection. Although I am fairly satisfied with my collection, its to many calibers to keep track of, so I'm hesitant to add another mouth to feed.

US
1903-A3
M1 Garand
M1 Carbine

Russian
M91-30
M44
SKS

Swiss
K-31

British
No.4 Mk.I*

German
K98k

Nice collection, hard to believe you don't have a 91/30. I'd put that and a carbine version, M38, M44 on your wanted list. A nice K31 and some type of Carcano and Arisaka.
We have what's listed in my sig plus a Siamese Mauser and a Carcano M91 long rifle.

I only collect Mosin Nagants and SKS rifles as far as C&R goes.

I don't have the time / money / space / brainpower to get immersed in all the other stuff that's out there. I just keep buying more of the above and I am totally content. It makes ammo stockpiling easier too.

Ok, I gotta ask. Why on earth would anybody give a list of what toys they have online? Isn't that just asking for trouble? Besides, you will notice that a lot of people on here that are very active in C&R collecting aren't going to list what they have because it would take too bloody long. I know at least 3 people on this board who have literally hundreds of C&Rs. They give us all something to aspire to. But I seriously doubt that any of them are going to bother to list even a fraction of what they have. If you can list your entire C&R collection in a few lines, you haven't been at it very long.

mosin 91/30
swiss g11
french Berthier 1907/15

those are the three in my collection which are really truly long rifles imo, but i suppose this is up to interpretation since others here have called k98s long rifles...

long rifles are fun but man you see why they were phased out with the carbines... way too big, way too hard to service... anything longer than a k31 or k98 is just sorta wasted space! the brits win in this regard. their boys had smle noI mkIIIs when everyone else was lugging around tree trunks... the smle was the best rifle in europe in ww1 when the "long rifle" had its day. a generation later in 1939 everyone else was using what the brits were using back in 1914.

for example, with the french berthier i've got, with the enbloc system it is sort of prone to jamming... unsure if its because of the system or if its because the clips are all 100 years old and not so great. but when it jams, and you want to make sure there's nothing down the pipe the barrel's too darn long to check w/out basically stripping the bolt out of it, which with a berth requires a screw driver...

anyways. shorter carbines ftw!!

Tons. Plural.

Did you get one of these?

Time to update this thread.

Since I've posted, I've finally acquired my first Mosin - an M44 from AIM Surplus in excellent condition. I have a propensity for excellent condition milsurps, and I'm still looking for my "holy grail" in an excellent condition Gewehr 98. Hoping to find something that's suitable in the Ventura and Santa Barbara gun shows.
