You would need the lower parts for a glock frame too. The kit comes with the 80% polymer frame along with the jig and bits needed to mill it.

http://www.80percentarms.com/pages/faq " ... The following is for California residents ONLY: In July, 2016, California passed AB 857 which requires all completed firearms to have a serial number applied by Jan 1, 2019. An 80% lower is not a firearm, so a serial number would only be required once the 80% lower is completed. Unfinished 80% lower receivers do not need a serial number. If you engrave a serial number of your choosing into your completed 80% lower prior to Jul 1, 2018, you will not be affected by this law and you do not need to notify any government agency that you built a firearm. In other words, you can make up any serial number you want (as long as it meets ATF's definition of a serial number), engrave it on your receiver, and this will satisfy Californiaās legal requirement. You do not need to apply to the state, or tell them what your serial number is. Your lower can still legally remain completely off the radar. The important thing is you MUST engrave your serial number before July 1, 2018 to take advantage of this benefit. After July, 2018, the law changes for the worse. If you build an 80% lower after July 1, 2018, you must FIRST apply to the California DOJ for a serial number, pay a fee, and they will then assign a serial number that you must apply to your firearm. In this case, you canāt choose your own serial number and your serial number will be in the state governmentās data base. If you want to avoid falling under this law, make sure you engrave your own serial number to your completed 80% lowers before July 2018. If you build an 80% lower and use your own āunregistered" serial number after July 2018, it would be a misdemeanor, although the state would have the burden of trying to prove in court that you did in fact build the lower after the July 2018 cut off date. 80% Arms offers an 80% lower receiver serialization service. We have an FFL license and can engrave a serial number on your completed 80% lower receiver that meets ATF requirements. ..." |

Has anyone figured out if we can do the engraving on our own with an electric pencil? Or would it need to be done with a CNC or something of that nature.

and this is why these polymer frames have a similar metal piece just like a glock frame does under the rail where the serail number is. Its already there for you to engrave your own serial number. |

the PF940 had structural integrity issues due to the rear rail being made of only polymer and wearing low after 5-7k rounds. Thats why im not even offering it for sale in this group buy

Seriously considering getting in on the group buy, especially since everyone else has this at $150 before shipping/tax.
But before jumping on the bandwagon, I wanna price out a build. Where's the best deal on a lower parts completion kit? I found an OEM kit for a G17 from Midway for $50, just wish they listed the part numbers for each part. I think all except the Slide Lock Spring is cross compatible between large frame and small frame. Can anyone confirm/deny? I also found an OEM/LWD kit from Lone Wolf for $80, but they're currently OOS. Any other/better options out there? ------------------------------------------------------------- *EDIT* - Compiled a list of deals for my personal use, but figured I'd share here in case it helps someone else out. Current as of the updated 03/14/17 timestamp. Btw, these are for mostly stock builds, if you're going for an all-out custom build, you (and your wallet) are on your own: Lower Parts Completion Kits Midway ($49.99) - https://www.midwayusa.com/product/954622/ (G19)Upper/Slide Parts Completion Kits GlockParts ($99.95) - http://glockparts.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=126778&CAT=740 (includes recoil spring assembly)Recoil Spring Assembly (if not included in upper/slide parts completion kit) Lone Wolf Dist ($19.95) - http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.a...155992&CAT=294Slide Lone Wolf Dist ($209.95) - https://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail....919740&CAT=247Barrel GlockStore - http://www.glockstore.com/Glock-Fact...l_2?gun-list=8Sights Glock Parts - http://glockparts.com/Products.aspx?CAT=742 Last edited by AC_DC; 03-14-2017 at 6:52 AM.. |
