I was at a gun show and met a really cool, old school guy that does custom cowboy action revolvers some of which included gold plating and they looked pretty awesome. Granted his stuff was more artwork than a practical firearm, but just saying that it can work out in some instances.

With that said, I agree that the Beretta looks stupid. IMO any modern firearm that you plan on shooting should be just plain old blued or parked.
