While I understand the reasoning behind featurless builds, and resent the state for making us choose between two lame options, I have to say, they are some of the dumbest looking rifles i've ever seen.
No offense.

When I explain it to a non-gun person, they look at me like I am from mars.

"You mean the shape of the grip can make owning the gun a felony?"

"Yep. Kalifornia is that stupid."

I mostly agree with you, but they also look cool in an abstract-art sort of way

Default Pair of crittter-getters

Our two featureless, decked out for chicken protection duty. Top is chambered in 7.62x39, bottom is .223 Wylde. Both wear 2-7 scopes, an older Nikon prosaff, and a Burris fullfield E1.

Sorry about the bad cell phone picture

Bought some coyote .80 thickness Kydex, tan Chicago screws with black nuts from ebay. I used my heat gun a wearing welding gloves wrapped the Sure ergo grip forming around the finger grooves. Had to cut the length of the nuts as it went beyond the thickness of the 2 sandwiched Kydex. I used some tools (end of sharpie marker) to get a tight fit on the edge of the grip shape. Used my Dremel with a cutting wheel and to keep steady, my palm bracing agaist the table to trim it. I traced some cutting guidelines in pencil. Overall I like how it turned out. Anyway to get that BB off my rifle.

Hate to be a ninny, but the FSC in FSC556 stands for Flash Suppressing Compensator. Might not be the wisest choice on a "featureless" build. FYI, they do make one without the flash suppressing tines on the end. It's called the TTO.

BTW, very nice looking rifle!

No offense.
They represent the market beating the gun grabbers with ingenuity, and that makes them beautiful, no matter how Buck Rogers they look.

(featureless builder here btw)

I guess I'm missing something. I have a few ar's. Why are you going featureless? Is it required in some parts of the state? Do you get to use larger mags with no bullet button? Please enlighten me o wise gand masters!

yes, we can use magazines of any size in our featureless rifle when they don't have a maglock. many of us have "pre-ban" large-cap mags that we enjoy using in our featureless rifles. even for rifles in which I do not have large-cap mags, I would prefer to go featureless so I can easily drop my mags and not have to deal with an annoying maglock.

That is exactly the point. No BB, and can use standard capacity mags, assuming you had them already.

Colt LE6920 Upper with KAC Carbine RAS, Trijicon Acog TA01, KAC SR-30 lower with full ambi-dextrous controls, Magpul Miad grip with Exile Machine backfin and pinned Magpul ACS stock

Running without a compensator...still not sure what kind of brake I want to use.

It works like a normal AR15? The only differences is that rifle doesn't have a pistol grip, telescoping stock, or flashhider.

I am speaking specifically at the rifle pictured. I do not see ant way for there to be a buffer tube so how does it eject? It's interesting.

Like I said, it functions like a normal AR-15. The rifle is called the SCR by Ares. They made a special rat tail bolt carrier that gets pushed back downwards at an angle when a cartridge is detonated. The gun is still semi-auto.

My new and growing gripfin family! Thanks Exile Machine for the amazing warranty replacement of an older gripfin free of charge! Gripfins are my new go to featureless option. Looking forward to more in the future!

In case:

Just in case:

My impoverished self put the pile of parts together for a buyer I had lined up who was going to build it on his lower, then he backed out, so I put it on one of mine just for SNG.

Between the knurled aluminum fore end and the knurled aluminum loudener, it looks like there's some kind of Maglite fetish going on. Yes that's the "Look at me guys, I'm an ACOG!" Bushnell RDS. I did quite a bit of reading and found that it's actually one of the best, if not the best, dot sights in the lower price ranges. And I like the fact that on this No Front Sights Allowed set up, it has a nice set of BUIS on top.

If you lived some place where it was legal to carry the mag in the gun, you could easily have 90 rounds onboard. I prolly coulda fit another 30-rounder up in the corner, but things woulda been rubbing. So some other place with rubbin: 120 rds.

It's the Dri-Fire system.

I got the rifle length version so the gas block would be completely covered up in use.

There's the Dolos quick disconnect system, but to my eyes it looks like a weaker set up. Ferinstinz, the piece that threads onto the upper, that takes all the torque when you're twisting the fore end down, is only secured by set screws. On the Dri-Fire, you can tighten the threaded piece down against the upper.
