The gallery is sweet, but what the hell is pedobear doing on your optic?

I own a German P220 in excellent condition (G319-xxx, no rail, bought new in 2001). I've never loved the trigger and the grips are wide for a single stack but it shoots straight and goes bang every time. One of these days I'll send it to Gray Guns to make the trigger more palatable.

This was my first Sig - West German P220 (European model). Only bought it 20+ yrs ago since a friend was selling it cheap. Glad I did! Found the Hogue coco bolo grips at a gun show for a great price.

Beauty! Can I ask how you polished the barrel up? Did you do just the chamber or the whole thing?

this is what i like to see; very nice. i have a 'JD' (1983) Interarms import w german P220-E .45 ACP. a nice stablemate to the 'American' style w german P220. i'm still looking for a set of obsolete original OEM optional wood grips for my P220-E... just because.

The whole thing. My friend who owns a polishing shop did it but if i can recall correctly i believe he said he plugged the barrel on both sides and stripped with chemicals. Then buffed?

Mine is a JG. Original OEM wood grips would be nice but non-US grips are hard enough to find!

nice example you've got. you gotta love those old cardboard boxes; i associate the old boxes with the pleasure of viewing a newly acquired w german Sig for the first time, as you take the lid off the box. the orginal OEM 'optional' wood grips were made by Siles, and essentially look identical in shape and checkering to the original plastic checkered grips of the w german Sigs. i've got the optional wood grips for my w german P225 and other w german P220 .45 ACP (American style). they do 'bulk up' the grip area with increased palm swell; very attractive, but i prefer the orginal plastic grips for the ergonomic factor of comfort. still, i enjoy having the wood grips just for the sake of having them; i collect some of the old obsolete 'accessories' for the earlier Sigs.

It's the only German frame Sig with a beaver tail. It's at my ffl waiting to be dros'd on the 8th of Feb. I already have my 9mm xchange slide/barrel kit for this also, but now to find a .357sig barrel. The one in the pic isn't mine but one off the internetz.
Picked mine up yesterday. SRT and short reach trigger along with DPM 3 spring recoil reduction system installed:

DLC coating on the barrel looks more pronounced than the DLC coated alloy frame but definitly different than the normal nitron finish.

I lube the slide rails generously with Slide Glide lite to protect against galling and excess friction. For all other mechanical mtm contact surfaces and external gun finish with Eezox for it's rust inhibiting properties as per Flork's Lubrication Recommendation a gunsmith from Grey Guns. I use these syringes with a tapered plastic integrated needle used for dental irrigation brand name is Monoject you can purchase on Ebay for a couple bucks. I keep a semi filled one in my range bag. Sig Sauer internal lubrication

I'm using Lubriplate SFL 'O" grease, Its pricey but giving it ago.

http://www.grantcunningham.com/lubricants101.html link to read about it. I also use their FMO line spray oil. Best I have found yet.

Tell me about the finish on your friend's P229 Elite was this a stainless steel model or did you refinish the whole gun? Sorry if I'm twisting the dagger a little bit.

I just joined up, been lurking for a while. I'm from El Dorado County (Northern CA).

One of my hobbies is photography and I could never find a good photo on the Internet of a Sig Equinox that did it justice. When I saw this gun in person, I knew it was mine. This was actually a quick snapshot (not even a tripod or lights). I took it on a piece of black glass and bounced the camera flash off a poster board behind the gun.

installed night sights, SRT, short trigger today. took me close to 6 hours, most spent on getting the sights off. snapped the stock front one as well and had to do a little dremel work on the new front but it came together in the end :}
