I picked it up last night and just finished installing the scope and I'm "underwhelmed" with it. Maybe it's the stock but man I'm sort of bummed. My friend has a similar MKII that came with the Boyd's tacticool stock and I love that gun. It feels right, this one feels wrong.

I just saw a boyds stock for sale for the MKII in the market place pick it up and just see if you like it before you ditch the rifle. I bought the MKII-TR that comes with the boyd stock. I had the MKII-F and I will tell you that having the right stock makes all the diffreance in the world on how it will shoot.

Stock sucks.....feels hollow.....take it off drill a small hole in the bottom rear (near where a sling pin would go) and fill it with expanding foam.......stiffens up the stock quite a bit and saves you $100+ dollars on a new stock for the time being.....just my .02

If you intend on getting rid of it, I'll make an offer if you're within 5 hours of the bay area.
And I can definitely recommend boyd's gun stocks. Minor fitting, but nicest stocks I've ever seen. Plus, you can get your initials burned into it from the factory. |

I just bought an airsoft AICS stock and modified it to accept the FVSR. I finished it last night in desert tan. I'll assemble it tomorrow and post some pics.
When I dry fit all the parts it felt really good. The aisoft stock has an aluminum chassis that was fairly easy to adapt and it's solid. There are a few posts out there on how to do it and as soon as saw them I hunted down a stock and did. I'm now very pleased with it. |

How does it shoot? 25 or 50yd 5-shot groups with pics would be nice. Looks really good in that stock. Defcon has been an insperation to many on here. He has quite the collection and talent.

I never took pictures during but if you are at all "handy" you will figure it out by just seeing what you have to work with.
My stock is a Well G96 and it has a good quality aluminum chassis. I cut the top out only enough to accept the action. Then I used one of the aluminum blocks to pillar bed the front pillar and made a 1"x1" oak block to bed the rear threaded pillar. There is a pillar at the very rear behind the trigger isn't threaded, I drilled a 1/2" dia hole of appropriate depth into the rear of the chassis. The aluminum mag well needed trimming at the front to accept the curved 10 rounder. Really simple work. Just make sure you install the action at a depth that allows the bolt to travel, iow, don't go too deep. But if you don't install it deep enough the mag well will need more work. I used the rear most bedding pillar to set my depth. From there I leveled the barrel with the chassis and the rest was straight forward. The barrel has lots of clearance and is fully free floated. Everything is rock solid on my conversion. Even the hinge feels good. I did shim the sleeve that mounts into the stock because it had a tiny bit of wiggle, now it's solid. Overall I'm very pleased with It. My rings are a tiny bit too high for my cheek but I'll replace them with some that are about 0.75" -0.80" high. The cheek rest is adjustable but I like the scope as lower. |

i got the L96 first and its a POS.
plastic is cheap, no aluminum chassis inside and its a lot smaller in scale compared to the G96 version |

I recently did a boyds tacticool stock. I like it well enough and its a shooter so I'm going to leave it as is, but I want to do another tacticool .22 in the near future. I want to start off as a savage FV again or maybe an FVSR with a fake can. The MSR stock looks amazing there Defcon. Where in the world did you find that stock? Anyway, here is my Boyds stock.

Me just make one. The best part is you can place the grip exactly at the right distance from the trigger for the perfect custom feel just for u.
