Default Holographic sights

Anyone have any experience with these Holographic sights- They look like a square frame of some sort mounted on top of your pistol? I have been told that target acquisition with them is real nice & real fast. Don't know what kind of magnification they have, if any. Anyone have any experience with them or know anything about them. Thinking about a sight swap for my 345 ( that's in another post) but thinking hard on holographic for one of my 357's.

Were you going to post a photo or link to the holographic sight in question?

Have seen many red dots for handguns but I’ve never heard of a true holographic sight small enough for a handgun. Very curious.

I tried shooting a Glock with a Trijicon RMR and I found that I was slower with it compared to iron sights. During slow fire, I preferred the red dot since you don't have to line up the front sight with the rear sight. But when drawing from a holster, I had a hard time finding the dot quickly through the small window.

As a side note, most of the optics that are mounted on pistols are actually LED red dot sights and not holographic. Holographic sights are usually bigger and used for rifles such as Eotech.

optics can help if you have bad eyes or trouble with iron sights, but it takes practice to acquire the dot quickly if you have been using iron sights for decades.

Holographic sights are very fast.
I have the Eotech 512 and am very happy with it.
It is easy to mount, zero and use.

I have three Holosun 510C sights on two AR Pistols and an HD shotgun. The battery life is very good (had one for at least three years and have not changed a battery yet).

I also have a Sightmark which is not mounted on a weapon because The battery life was terrible and the batteries expensive.

Of that list you posted, only 2 of the 7 are actually holographic sights.

Holographic sights:
EoTech Sights

Vortex UH-1

Red dot sights in general offer a superior sighting system over iron sights.

Holographics is one type of red dot technology vs the more commonly used LED technology.

Not sure a holographic sight is needed for your application.
