Default PSA 16" 7.62x39 Carbine Length Upper (No BCG or CH) $150

http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-p...516446380.html

BCG can be picked up for less than 100 bucks. And if you don't have CH laying around, those are cheap too.

EDIT: Goes in and out of stock. If you need BCG, here is great quality one, with lifetime warranty http://skidtactical.com/store/ar-15-...carrier-group/

does that upper require the special lower? I think you need the ar47 upper to mount to 223 lower.

I would say a high-quality 7.62x39 BCG, so it doesn't break after a couple thousand rounds

Had to pick one up at that price. Now I need to find a BCG and some mags on sale.

Just be aware that these have a flash hider installed on a threaded barrel; you can't go featureless with this upper unless you pin and weld on a comp.

What? Just unscrew the flash hider, screw on a brake + crush washer. Done. It's a 16" barrel, no need for pin & weld.

Yeah, you're probably right. It's been a while since I've built a non-pistol AR.

Except for having to buy additional mags for this caliber, looking at this one instead, having a HBAR profile and a compensator instead of flash suppressor, and it has a nice free floating KeyMod railed hand guard all of that for only another $20 ($169.99), there is an option to add the BCG & CH for an additional $88 and it does include free shipping:

i'm still wavering on if i should get this or not.

since i have to find non-magnetic ammo to shoot in socal ranges kinda makes it expensive to shoot.

Yes absolutely, I've been a regular customer for the last 3 years, and have several uppers from them, all work just fine, their CS is responsive and courteous.

The way i look at it, 7.62x39 is one of the most common calibers in the world. It would be nice to be able to swap uppers to shoot it when it is on sale, of if shtf.

There are still places to shoot magnetic ammo, so not an issur for me.

I bought a 7.62 upper from DeltaTeam and there was something wrong with the alignment of the hand guard and the barrel. One oR the other wasn't straight on the upper.
After reading up on the company on arfcom, I decided to return it. Their customer service was spot on and I returned it for a full refund and ended up buying one from PSA.

I bought buffer tube kit from delta and it was out of spec. In my opinion they're cranking out mediocre product.
