Default New Marine recruit

Well, my son joined a bit back as DEP/POOLEE, slotted to go in October, he offered to be on standby
Well he did IST at recruiters over the weekend, the recruiter said this Monday is s high chance he will leave, if so expect a call Sunday night or early Monday morning... Sooo early morning went by, so didn't think nothing of it, then the recruiter calls, says "is he ready???"
Anyway, he went to MEPS and will fly to San Diego in the morning to catch up with those that shipped yesterday
Apparently Lima Company

Outstanding! Best time of my life was Marine Basic Training. Toughest time as well. Semper Fi.

You should get him a graduation present, like a nice watch, new tablet, etc. Maybe something you can have engraved? Ring?

Thank you all
They get offers to order the grad stuff themselves, I'd guess he will grab his own ring, but if he doesn't I can between basic and MCT

He will be returned to you a better man in just a few short weeks. Beats the heck out of a semester or two at UC Berzerkely as far as reality/common sense being instilled into a student goes. Congrats, and am glad he made the grade.

This! Hope he doesn't end up as a water purification specialist... or worse, bulk fuel.

are there any 'recent' marine boots, that could give me an idea of what 'exactly' hes is doing at various times, I have the 'matrix' that is general/vague, it would be nice to be able to ask targeted questions of what he did in the previous week, for example how did you do on your 100 meter swim last week, or your 6mile march, etc...

This coming Friday will be a real fun day for him. It will be a while before he will start receiving mail, but you can start writing as soon as you have an address. His recruiter should have provided that. It can change though, so make sure to check with his recruiter. Also, did you get the calendar of events? Those are pretty accurate as far as what he's doing everyday.

Is Marine Corps Boot Camp still separate for men and women? Since the new Corps wants to abolish the title "Male" or "Man" and all.

"Various times" He's playing F%$@-F@%$ games! The other. He's locking his nasty body up and sounding the F@%$ off!!

And can you take a little effort and capitolize "Marine(s)"

Best to you and your son! Thanks for continuing the fight.

Yah, I'm sure there's a lot of that
Oh no, not me, can't cap that word, makes it sound important or something
Army of course needs to be capitalized
Thanks.

Loved it when they said "Drill instructors carry out the plan of the day" Then all he.. Breaks loose like a Hurricane. It's mostly mental, only part I hated was gas chamber and Mt MFer. I kinda miss it, is that demented?!

Nice, I DEP'd out of Salinas RSS too.

Honestly I have a lot of friends who just got off the drill field. Boot camp is pretty watered down man. your son will be more than fine...hopefully the same will be said for my Corps.

Mother F'er, 1st Sergeant's, Recon Ridge, some great humps for sure. At MOPP level 4 it's a good test for any man. The grunts that run MCT used to haze the **** out of the future MP's in this manner every class that came through.
