What buffer tube?
Is the "brace" just hanging off the end of the tube or is it a long tube?

I just realized that you have a true lefty upper. Nice

It's Riflegear's pistol buffer tube, I didn't have it pushed all the way on at the time.

Does it stay put like that, or does it push further on from recoil?
(When not used as intended.)

It stays put, it's a very tight fit.

Just finished my 1st AR15 pistol. It's an 11.5" barrel 6.8spc designed for both supersonic and subsonic loads. It weighs 5.5 pounds with the zero round sled installed, but optics removed. The overall length is 27 inches and not subject to NFA "AOW" classification if a vertical foregrip is installed. I bought a cheap grip pod ripoff to see if I liked a vertical foregrip, but decided I prefer gripping the naked tube better. That grip will go on a 22lr bolt action for a range toy. Hopefully, I'll get to test fire it at the range next week.

It becomes a AOW with a forward vertical grip. Basically it's a huge No No. AFG by Magpul is not considered a vertical grip.

The overall length is 27". Not an "AOW" per ATF. It is similar to Franklin Armory XO-26. I edited my first post to state the 27 inch overall length to avoid further confusion. Technically, CA defines my gun as a "handgun" while the ATF defines it as a "firearm," but not a handgun if the forward grip is installed. Please visit http://www.franklinarmory.com/PRODUCTS_XO-26.html to downloading a copy of an ATF letter confirming what I said.

not completely correct

unless you can determine from this pciture that the weapon is less than 26" this is also not correct.

if a pistol configuration exceeds 26" it becomes a Title 1 "other" firearm to which you can LEGALLY attach a vertical grip.

Thanks for looking out for me. This is why I love Calguns! We care enough about each other to make sure we all stay law abiding responsible citizens. I am not trying to push, stretch, or bend the law. I am simply trying to enjoy the great freedoms we have in this country while still obeying the law.

Is it legal to put a LaRue hand stop on the bottom rail of the upper?

I love it. Adds to the fun factor for sure. Def throws the sound forward and keeps it soft shooting. Not nearly as soft with it off, but it's teeth rattling when it's off

So what's the verdict on the SIG pistol braces? Legal in CA? Can anyone source a link or something?

Don't hold your breath!

The Feds have stated the SB15 Sig Brace is Legal on an AR Pistol. They've even stated its fine to Shoulder an AR Pistol equipped with a SB15.

But the jerkoffs in the California DOJ won't provide specific opinions unless forced to do so (kicking & screaming). They live to create FUD!
