Assuming the weights listed are correct of course, one would have to take into account the differences when working up loads.

Thank you OP for taking the time to follow up on your og post.
Well, if you believe everything you read, you wont get far on your knowledge.
5.56 is a thicker casing than .223 to handle the hotter load that the military spec calls for.
Thus the weight per lb is greater than that of .223.
The weight differs in a fraction of a gram but when weighed out per 1000, 5.56 is a greater weight.
Your first mistake here is " you read somewhere".
You can infact reload 5.56 cases to .223 spec but not the other way around. Or you could possibly find a piece of upper reciever sticking out of your eye socket.
Word to the wiser, cross reference your "reading" before you post.
Thanks! And happy shooting!

That would have to be another list in itself since each hull design is different.

Time to start weighing.

I don't know if you want to add this but, I just added re-oloading 12 ga. to my metallic cartridge habit. I found that 100 once-fired Win AA-HS hulls weigh 29.8 oz. That's 1000 in 298 oz. or 18.62lbs. God, I really enjoy re-loading!

.223 without primers was 6.02 grams a piece, at 75.3 pieces per pound, this measure and the post above were pulled from random pieces so different manufacturers may vary

I don't have .44 Russian but I have .45 Schofield listed @ 68 cases to 1# and 14.58# per 1000 cases. These are rough weights for range brass, Good Luck!

Unhappy

Thanks a lot! Your data is on the spot. I bought .45 ACP brass from FCBB and after two months and weekly emailing them, they delivered 19 lbs of brass - - 20 brass short.

The thread and data gathered has been very helpful. Thanks for the work!

I was processing some 5 gallon buckets of brass and the data helped.

I put it in a spreadsheet format so I can reference from it.

Excellent information here. Would be better off if converted to google sheets so that everyone can sort.
