Question CHL/ CCW & stopped by the Police....

I watched this video and felt like posting as James seems to have changed his "Meds" and gives his thoughts both from the LEO and CHL holder point of view

His explanation at the 2 minute mark of using the phrase GUN and the correlation back to training Drill where the word GUN is used in training drills as a shoot command... made sense to me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8Gh3LV1Ozg

What do you think?

What I liked most was (1:33) 'there's no great answer' to the question 'what do I say when he [the officer] comes up to the car?'

People on Calguns over the years have wanted THE answer and seem to have had a hard time grasping that no one answer covers the possible situations.

Unless there is some way to amend a bill so you would support it,
the details do not matter until the Governor signs or allows the bill to become law.

Ask CA law questions in the How CA Laws Apply to/Affect Me Forum
- most questions that start 'Is it legal ...' go there.

Not a lawyer, just Some Guy On The Interwebs.

I think 99% of all traffic stops or run-ins with the cops would be a whole hell of a lot smoother if people just chilled and calmly talked to them and treated them as they wanted to be treated.

This ^

LEO's are people, treat them with respect and in most situations they will reciprocate. It is all based on the situation at hand though and the parties involved. No answer is correct.

The one experience I had while carrying during a traffic stop was as smooth as can be and in my opinion the fact that I had an LTC kept me form getting cited. I simply handed the officer my LTC with my DL, he took 10 seconds to look at them then he handed them back to me and told me to carry on, simple as that. I had clearly made an illegal left hand turn form the wrong lane. So he had me, yet chose to let me go.

But then again I might have just been really lucky that night, lol.

I agree.

but never forget, if you tell a cop you are innocent it means nothing, if you tell him you are guilty it means everything.

Interesting statistic that crimes committed by CCW holders is less than that of LE.
