Default Riverside County

I did a search but did not find any help so here it goes.

I am looking to get info on what should be included in the reference letters required by the County of Riverside.

I know they want it stated that the person writing the letter include they are aware that the person the are giving the reference for is applying for LTC.

What other info would some of you that have been through the process suggest.

PM if necessary.

Thanks!

Mark

I would guess how long the person has known you and the type of person you are. It's a character reference.

They want to see that you have an even temper and that you make responsible choices. They want to know that you will make an appropriate decision should the circumstance ever come that you'd need to defend yourself with a firearm.

I suggest not asking people who dont have them or live in your county. If you want some info I always suggest to ask your IA. If you have something you just wanna run by someone, PM me and I will help you out as best possible.

Thanks Highlander. I've been through that thread but don't recall the info they are looking for on the reference letters. I'll go through it again and see if I missed something.

A reference letter is just that, Somebody vouching for you in the same manner that a colleague or past employer would vouch for your abilities for a job. So this reference letter should saY things like, M45 is an upstanding citizen that exercises good judgement in tough situations. In his personal and professional relationships, he is ethical and has a true moral compass. M45 is also one of the best rifleman, shooter, etc that I know, he can shoot one MOA, one handed, unsupported, etc.

Make sense?

Here is a good sample.

"To Whom it May Concern,

------------ -------------- has informed me that he is intending to apply for a CCW permit with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. I know -------------- to be of high moral character and utmost responsibility. He is a very level-headed person, and I know he would be a responsible CCW permit holder in your County.

If you need any further information, I can be reached at--------------."
