Zombie Movie Night

For all: Please don't forget, we have Zombie Movie Night planned for Saturday evening. We will set up a big screen and watch some Zombie movies (hopefully there will be no evil wind). Please bring your chair, sit back and enjoy the horror of it all...

Thanks bob.

I might have +1 or +2, but I definitely don't want to impede if there's limited space. Thank you sir.
They can hang out and meet people.
As far as limited space, we used a laser range finder one year and the firing line was 360 Yards wide with lots of room to spare. I have a photo of it as well.

If I can get all my crap moved and the new bench up in time, I'll be there.

This apendectomy isn't healing as fast as I'd like it to. Still dealing with a lot of the side effects even four days after the surgery.

I don't want to miss this shoot, but it ain't looking too good at this point in the game.

Did I read right? It's a fifty yard (slight) climb to the firing line from the parking area?

Count me in. So far I will be by myself. I've been to one 2 years ago and had so much fun. I want to do the Mosin night shoot this time. What time does Mosin madness start? Can I drive back home afterwards or is it advisable not to drive back when it's already dark (due to low visibility and not zombies)? I'll bring a charcoal grill and make LA-style bacon wrap hotdogs with jalapeño.

I'll be driving from West Covina if anyone wants to catch a ride with me.

I'm contemplating on making the trip. Looking to head out Friday noon/evening and returning Sat afternoon. Driving from Rancho Cucamonga. I'll post the edible goods I'll be bringing as soon as I figure out what they are, and as a side note, I've got 20 rounds of 7.62 x 54r that I don't need as I don't own a Mosin.

Brother, it ain't worth your health. These shoots are a yearly event if not more then that. Take the time to heal and just make the next one...

Just the type of post I wanted to see ......About what time? Didn't want to go alone so this makes it more interesting. I've got a Jeep Wrangler and it'll only be me as my cousin dropped out.

Yes, more or less depending on how close you park. They driveway isn't steep and most vehicles can make it up, even those slightly lower to the ground. I wouldn't hesitate to take a new Corvette up there. If needed, I'm sure someone would give you a ride up.

I won't be able to make it after all. The healing process of my knee replacement isn't going as well as I had hoped. Tho my truck can make it up the hill, I know I can't and I don't want to take a chance walking around the rough area of the shooting range.

Everyone have a great time!

I can tell you first hand that it will take at least 2 weeks to be able to move freely. It took me 3 weeks to fully recover from mine and even then I was still not 100% healed. Not worth your health and beside there will most likely be another one in the spring. Just take your time and heal

Hey guys, I got a question. Is all the fun gone by Sunday? I have to work Saturday night 3-11pm and cant get out a minute sooner.

I really want to bring my wife and a really good friend of mine (an actual anti-gunner who promised me he would go with me shooting before the end of the year).

If I arrive out there at lets say 9am Sunday, is it worth the trip? Has all the party been partied out?

As for the aftermath of the shoot, I'm bringing contractor bags, a couple 5 gal pails, and a wheelbarrow for some cleanup. I hope you gents (and ladies) are are going to do the same.

I'll probably start when I get there Friday and then some more clean-up time on Sat if we have a ceasefire during lunch. I don't care if it's our mess or somebody else's, and I'll take home as much range debris as my truck can carry.

This spot have been a great site for some good times, and I would hate for it to get closed because of some sloppy shooters.

If you're down, I'll be the dope with the wheelbarrow.

a lot of people leave saturday, and by sunday afternoon the rest will leave. if you head out and get their by 9am you will see most packing up, some shooting, others cleaning. you won't get the full ride of the saturday shoot. but it'll still be fun. i am planning on heading out sunday afternoon or evening, but i definitely want to shoot with you sir.

You suck!! But only because I'm unable to go due to unfortunate issues that arose when my house flooded last night. AK4me, that is a purdyfull piece of art!!!
Everyone have fun and be safe. For those who didn't read all the posts, people start trickling in on Friday morning and a few remain until Sunday night. Yes, your car will make it to the top of the ridge (firing line), yes there's camping, yes, it's family safe, yes, directions will be given out last minute, yes, everyone there are some of the coolest people you will ever meet.
Post lots of photos and be safe!

Okay, regarding the SSZS shirts.

We had many left from the last windswept attempt and I planned to add a .5 to the IV to indicate a later version.
However comma my vendor has said he couldn't do it and has gone out of business.

So my plan is to pass the shirts out to all the attending Calgunners at no charge.

We just need to have an individual I can ship the shirts to and willing to transport them to the shoot and handle the passing out of the shirts. Maybe have them at the sign in table and folks can grab their size at that time?

Anyone volunteer to receive a box of about 60 shirts and bring them to the shoot?

Vick

i'll do it if no one else volunteers. i was in charge of the ontario gun-show awhile back and have volunteered many times for booths; but if mrlonewolf or anyone else wants to take care of business before me that's cool.

I will donate 20 of them never asking for anything back to me, our vast law abiding citizen family is much better than this kind of approach.

My buddy and I still plan on heading out to this. Will be my first SSZS! We wont make it out there until Saturday. Is there a sign-up list for directions or anything?

Okay bob7122 you're it, as per our phoncon.

I'll ship the shirts tomorrow (Tuesday) so they will be to you Wednesday evening via UPS.
There are only 53 shirts so first come will be first served.
There are size small thru 4xl, all are 100% cotton, 6.1 ounce.
Nice shirts.

Thanks again,

Vick

I think I'll be joining in for at least part of the day on Saturday. I'm looking forward to meeting you all.

For those of us who are radio nerds (in addition to gun nerds), is there a 2m frequency that's in use at these events? If not might I suggest that we monitor the following freq's:

146.580 (simplex, primary)
146.520 (simplex, secondary, national calling freq)

I'm thinking we use 520 as the secondary in order to avoid stepping on travelers coming down the 15 or 40.

Not much of a coordinated radio presence at the last one, the RSO's and such usually use FRS.

Barstow area repeaters...
147.180+ 151.4 local 2m
447.580- 107.2 local 70cm
927.550- 100.0 local 33cm - this one is mine.

but of course if you like we can monitor a 2m simplex at the site. .580 is good for me.
