Default Recommendations on a 20 gauge clay shooting shotgun for my wife.

I've been looking at the Escort Semi-Auto Ladie's Muddy Girl Camo 20 gauge and the Mossberg Super Bantam 500 Pink Camo 20 gauge for my wife to shoot clays with. Which is the better choice? They say the Semi-Auto mechanism absorbs more of the recoil vs the pump action style shotguns, so may be better for recoil sensitive shooters. Anyone know more on the Escort model regarding reliability and durability?

I cannot comment on the Escort, but I would recommend a 500. Pump action means reliability (no worries about cycling light loads) and with some practice shooting doubles should not be a problem. I also notice the model you specify comes with a LOP adjustable stock, which will come in handy when fitting the shotgun to your wifes frame.

Recoil is something you eventually get used to, especially with a 20 gauge shooting light target loads.

I would have your wife handle both shotguns to see which she likes most.
